Jun Senoue: There're lots of ways to write the songs for the soundtrack. If we have the game and I can either play or watch some footage, it's much easier since I can match the tempo with the feeling of the game. Jun Senoue: I still officially belong to Wave Master, but ever since I moved to San Francisco over three years ago, I've been an active member of Sonic Team USA.

You're instantly greeted by a blast of borderline-metal rock that sounds as if it's straight out of the 80's. In the game's stages, the musical variety ranges from synth-heavy pop to all out, guitar-solo infused rock.

The music you're hearing is the product of Japanese Sega employee Jun Senoue, and his team of music specialists at WaveMaster, Inc. Jun came on with the company in 1993, producing a few songs for the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Jun Senoue. Biography[edit] Senoue started playing the piano at 3 while living in Japan.

After moving to Panama, he became dedicated to rock music at the age of 12.[1] He began to teach himself to play the electric guitar at 15,[2] and made his first original band recording at the age of 17.[2] In 1993, after graduating from college with a degree in economics from Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan,[1] he joined Sega as a video game composer, doing sound work for games such as Dark Wizard and Sonic the Hedgehog 3.[2] He is most well known for his compositions and songs in Sonic Adventure. In 2007, Senoue provided three new arrangements for the Japanese console release of OutRun 2 SP, including covers of existing series tracks "Splash Wave" and "Rush a Difficulty", and an original track titled "Lift You Up!
