Word Bracelets. I’ve been having so much fun with simple woven bracelets, everyone seems to be enjoying them – so I thought I’d show you another woven bracelet idea. If you picked up the supplies to try either version of the wish bracelet tutorial, here’s another way to use the hemp cord you probably still have a lot of. :) Put a word to your wish, or just wear a little bit of inspiration: I found these little word beads at Michael’s and they were just perfect!
For these, start with three strands of hemp about 16″ long for a bracelet-length. You’ll want to go longer for an ankle-length bracelet – between 18″ and 20″. You can also use cotton cord, it doesn’t have to be hemp – whatever you happen to have on-hand, or like the looks of. You just want it to be fairly thin so that the beads will fit. Tie a knot about 1/4″-1/2″ off center. With one thread going over the top, and one going under the bottom, carefully tie another knot on the other side of the bead. What word would you choose? Ribbon Jewelry....Yay or Nay? Ribbon jewelry seems to be all the rage at J. Crew these days. I have been experimenting with Ribbon jewelry for the past couple weeks. I finally made something that I deemed acceptable to wear out this weekend....a purple and green bead and ribbon necklace. I know that not everyone in the world is as big a fan of purple as I am, but what can I do?
What do you think? Last week I also made this bracelet out of ribbon and wood beads. So how do you feel about ribbon jewelry? Colorful Artisan Jewelry Designs by Gilliauna. Icicles. I made my sister this icy bracelet for her Birthday this year. It is a blue version of my Pink Caterpillar bracelet I made a few years ago. It's a very thick piece with a ton of Swarovski crystals woven in - very weighty.
I don't find much occasion to wear my own pink one, but my sister is much more stylish than me and knows how to make it look good. Since she mentioned that she liked it (well, ok, she outright said "You could make me one of these in green or blue" as she help up the original) I decided to make her the Icicles. I had a helluva time picking out the right color combo as I did all my shopping online, but I think it turned out to be a pretty good blend in the end!
Oh, and to be fair I have to mention that I found the pattern/instructions for this piece in the April 2006, Issue 72 Bead & Button magazine. Colorful Artisan Jewelry Designs by Gilliauna. I absolutely love these stones. In fact, they are hands down my favorite to work with. I originally bought them to custom design a birthday bracelet for a special order (aquamarine is March's birthstone) and once I started working with them they quickly became my favorite stone to work with.
They give off a soft, cool and clean "vibe" that I find very appealing. Sleek and cool, this pearl and gemstone bracelet is the perfect accent to any outfit, made with genuine aquamarine gemstone coins combined with soft pearls and intricate silver charms. It's one of my favorite bracelets I've made to date, and I ended up making a second so I could have one for myself!
Metaphysically, aquamarine is believed to be a stone of order, courage and clear thinking. Dressy or casual, this piece is sure to make an impression. Like all of the handcrafted gemstone bracelets I design, the size can easily be customized at no extra charge. Colorful Artisan Jewelry Designs by Gilliauna. When I made this piece I was looking forward to autumn's full glory with the changing of leaves and pumpkins in the stores. Although the piece can be worn year round, I think that for fall fashion, this is the one piece in my shop that is absolutely perfect for the season. A dark wooden pendant coiled in the silky shine of vibrant orange nylon fiber dangles from a beaded strand of black in this handmade necklace perfect for the season. The pendant is then combined with glass beads in matching hues and bronze accents that combines elegant with earthy. The necklace is then accompanied by a beautiful matching bangle bracelet of the same shades of dark wood and vibrant shimmering orange wrap. The lobster claw clasp at the nape hooks to an adjustable chain that allows this necklace to be worn tight enough to be a choker or loose enough to lie against the chest while a small bead bauble at the end of the chain gives an extra bit of decorative touch.

Rainy days and teardrops is what came to mind when I first saw the faceted teal pendant used in this unique OOAK (one of a kind) handmade choker necklace. I love the rain. I love how it feels like it scrubs the world clean. In this necklace, that love is brought to life with iridescent turquoise rounds and dark brown marbled beads that compliment each other in this beaded necklace finished with a matching faceted Lucite pendant that seems to glow in the light. The lobster claw clasp at the nape hooks to a chain that allows this "Rainy Days and Teardrops" necklace to adjust between 15" - 17" in length (38 cm - 43 cm) and be worn tight enough to be a choker or loose enough to lie against the chest while a small bead bauble at the end of the chain gives an extra bit of a decorative touch.

Inspired by the shimmering Aegean sea and a breathtaking view of Greece with sea and sky as her backdrop, this beaded lanyard is filled with intricate details and accents. Sometimes when working, a little touch of fantasy is what you need to make the day move a little faster, why not imagine sea and sky and the beauty of a Grecian holiday to help whittle away the time?
Perfect for a badge, keys and more, the nape of this 36-inch (91.5 cm) beaded badge lanyard is designed to lie comfortably against the back of the neck with decorative beads further down along the strand so they are shown off to their best advantage. Stones and Leather. Stones and Leather. When I become a rockstar someday, that’s what I’m going to name my band. And I am going to wear this: I have seen these pop up in a few places this season, but what finally sparked my interest was that a coworker of mine was wearing one the other day.
I admired it, and since I like making jewelry, I took note of how it was put together, and it looked really simple! I started thinking that instead of glass beads (like hers was made of) I’d like to go with a more earthy feel using some stone beads. She confessed to paying $28 for hers. Now if you’re here reading this, I’m going to assume that like me, you find paying $28 to be freaking crazy when you can do it yourself.

It has really convenient and easy to adjust dials to change settings on the fly (and because you're looking at the LCD screen, you can see, almost in real time, what's happening.) And lastly, this is pretty important to me, there are so many more points of focus you can select rather than just the 9 that the Mark II has!
Did I mention that it was so much lighter? **sigh** Do I want this camera? Oh for sure! If money were no object, I would get it in a heartbeat! DIY — bracelet made from braided beads | Simply Allis. I came across this tutorial from ECAB that demonstrates how to make a braided bead necklace and I knew instantly that was going to be my next project.
I have modified the instructions a bit to make a braided bead bracelet. I will show you pictures from my bracelet making process and give brief instructions. Please click the link above to go on over to ECAB for the full tutorial. It is wonderful. These are my supplies. The string pictured is Beadalon #6 silk bead cord. Save yourself some heartache and get the thicker cord from the start. First I strung about 4″ of beads on to my thread. Next I chose to go ahead and cut 2 pieces of chain a little longer than I though I would actually need and attached a jumpring.
Make sure all your bead tips are closed around the knot. A closer look. Next, braid the beads. Secure the bead tips at the end of the braid to the other jumpring and chain from earlier. Cut the chain to size then attach a clasp and you are all done! To Pinterest Like this: DIY pearly and colourful bracelets. Adjustable Knot Leather Bracelet. Chevron polymer clay pendant DIY.
