Visiting Student Groups | SECMOL. SECMOL has a wing operating as a travel agency, specialising in student groups interested in cultural exchange and environmental and development issues. We host a few selected groups each year. They are mostly groups of students, and occasionally groups of adults on learning tours. Groups stay at SECMOL Campus and share in daily activities and discussions. Our Ladakhi students appreciate the chance to meet young people from different countries, and to practice their English in real communicative situations. The SECMOL experience is ideal for student groups that want authentic interactions with Ladakhis and to explore development and environmental issues. We have extensive experience organising the following activities: Homestays, often in villages off the beaten path. We attempt to bridge the gap between cities and villages, and extend the benefits of tourism to villagers, while preserving the fragile environment.

Jacobs have been bred in England in their present form for over 350 years. But their historical antecedents may go back, as some people believe, to the Old Testament, to the spotted sheep of Jacob, father of the twelve Hebrew patriarchs -- the leaders of the twelve tribes.

In what is now Syria, young Jacob worked for his uncle Laban -- his wage being that he was given all the spotted animals. Jacob placed spotted branches around nearby watering holes, believing that this would cause the ewes to conceive spotted lambs. Jacob Sheep came to the United States via Britain, in the early 1900's, for use in zoos and animal parks. So why raise Jacobs? Prairie Garden | Myriad Botanical Gardens.

Arriving By Air The Ferihegy Airport is 20 km (12.5 miles) southeast of Budapest, and there are a variety of transportation options from there to the city. The cheapest way to get from the airport is to go the public transportation route.

Bus 93 runs from Terminal 1 to the Köbánya-Kispest metro terminal. Bus 200E, a direct service, picks up at both Terminals 1 and 2 for Köbánya-Kispest. For those traveling with a lot of luggage or arriving at odd hours, Bus 200E is the best option since it is larger and operates late-night. A rail link connects Terminal 1 at the airport to Budapest's Nyugati (western) Railway Station. The airport minibus is another transportation option, popular because it drops passengers off directly at their hotels. Taxi journeys in Budapest were once risky, due to dishonest drivers and notoriously overactive meters. Arriving by Train All three stations link to metro lines and/or night buses. Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Rachel Carson Trail Challenge — Rachel Carson Trails Conservancy. Document Actions Hike the trail in one day! Overview The eighteenth annual Rachel Carson Trail Challenge will take place on June 21, 2014, the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. The Challenge is a 34-mile long, one-day, sunrise to sunset endurance hike on nearly the entire brutal Rachel Carson Trail. If 34 miles sounds too daunting, we offer two shorter events that same day.

The Course The Challenge has two dimensions: the first is to endure 34 miles of tortuous hill climbing and descent in unpredictable weather conditions; the second is to stay on the trail without getting lost. The Rachel Carson Trail is a "primitive" trail in the sense that no special grading or surfacing materials are used. All hikers will be given a trail guide to assist them on their journey. The Challenge entry fee includes a t-shirt, shuttle bus, checkpoint support, cookout, and a trail guide.

Registration See the 2014 Challenge page for details. Volunteers The Challenge needs volunteers on Challenge Day! Camino de Santiago de Compostela Pilgrimage Spain - The Way. Modern Pittsburgh Is a Showcase for History, Culture and Sports by Various Travel Authors on Creators. By Robert Selwitz Pittsburgh is major league in ways that go far beyond its sports teams. Though best known for the legendary NFL Steelers, scrappy NHL Penguins and beloved baseball Pirates, this compact city is also home to superior art and music offerings, major museums and a burgeoning food scene. Add in a quarter-millennia of fascinating history and an economic and environmental revolution that has transformed the city from sooty black to progressive green, and you have a destination well worth exploring.

During the summer it is hard to top a night game at PNC Park, home of the Pirates. The skyline view from moderately priced, close-in seats is unsurpassed. When fall approaches and nights turn chilly, however, the cultural season blossoms. Nearby are also several major theatrical venues that include the Pittsburgh Public Theater. Pittsburgh's cultural scene also extends well past the performing arts. Another noteworthy draw is the family-friendly Heinz History Museum. Garden Home. Wilderness Volunteers. Inside the artificial biomes are plants that are collected from all around the world.

The project is located in a reclaimed Kaolinite pit, located 1.25 mi (2 kilometres) from the town of St Blazey and 5 kilometres (3 mi) from the larger town of St Austell, Cornwall.[2] The complex is dominated by two huge enclosures consisting of adjoining domes that house thousands of plant species,[3] and each enclosure emulates a natural biome.

The domes consist of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal, inflated, plastic cells supported by steel frames. The first dome emulates a tropical environment, and the second a Mediterranean environment. Design and construction[edit] The project was conceived by Tim Smit and designed by architect Nicholas Grimshaw and engineering firm Anthony Hunt and Associates (now part of Sinclair Knight Merz).
