http://www.good.is/post/how-to-make-your-own-beauty-products-from-scratch/ Let's keep things simple this week. When it comes to personal-care products, we are big believers in streamlining what you use—see " Eight Products You Think You Need But Don't " for a refresher—buying less in general, and getting creative. Indian Vanity Case: Easy Cat Eyeliner Tutorial

Cat eyeliner has got to the most unpredictable thing in makeup. You never know what shape you'll end up with. One wrong move & you'll have to think of ways to make it look right. I thought I'd share with you how I've been doing mine, because I think it's almost mistake-proof. So, here's a step-by-step tutorial : http://www.indianvanitycase.com/2011/07/easy-cat-eyeliner-tutorial.html
Most people apply conditioner as they do shampoo: starting at the top of the head and working it all through the hair. But the hair closest to the roots is healthy new growth; it's the ends that are older and more likely to be damaged. Apart from wasting product, conditioning the roots can weigh your hair down and make it look greasy, says Gina Lees, a stylist with the Adolf Biecker Spa, in Philadelphia. A better way: Starting at your ears, apply conditioner all the way to the ends. http://www.realsimple.com/beauty-fashion/makeovers-tips/how-to-correct-8-common-beauty-mistakes-10000001587809/index.html

Last night I suffered through watched Something Borrowed on DVD. I heard all the terrible reviews, but being the big Kate Hudson fan I am, I thought I needed to see it for myself. Unfortunately, I can’t get those two hours back, but I did spot a cute mani on Kate in one scene. It was a modern french manicure with a beige base, black tips, and a little bit of gold. Next, apply two coats of beige polish to the entire nail. I used a fast-drying formula to try to save a little time. http://aprettypennyblog.com/2011/10/31/manicure-monday-something-borrowed/

I’ve been seeing lots of outrageous nail art lately on pinterest. One hot new product that’s really caught my eye is adhesive nail polish strips. I love the funky designs and bold colors with these products, but they’re usually a little spendy for me.

It just so happens to be my first guest post and I'm still a little shocked that it's here at Ucreate, one of my favorite blogs! What I love about this project is that it's completely customizable . I used favorite quotes to decorate my shirt but you could also use song lyrics, bible verses, favorite book excerpts, etc. http://www.u-createcrafts.com/2011/08/creative-guest-watermark-tee-by-sweet.html

http://aiminglow.com/2011/07/how-tie-your-scarf/ Where I live in Saskatchewan, the weather changes every five minutes, so I have a habit of carrying a scarf with me, even in the warmer months. Despite spending nearly four decades in this blessed area of the world, though, I never learned how to tie a scarf properly until very recently. I am often fashion challenged in this way. I once wore a rope for a belt for several months.

Browsing other people’s outfits is a good way to take breaks from my all-night study session. My current favorite looks are edgy with little touches of femininity, such as a bright, flowy skirt or loose curled hair.

I am sometimes asked how I style my hair, and while my method is far from perfect, I thought I'd show you how! My hair is pretty straight and fine naturally and I always let it air dry. Since I go about three days between washes, I like to curl it on the first day and let it mellow out into some nice waves over the next two. If your hair doesn't hold curl very well then you may want to put a palmful of curling mousse in it when it is halfway dry. First I comb out all of the tangles and apply a liberal amount CHI Iron Guard Protection Spray to prep my hair. Then I stick the top part up in a clippy so I can curl the bottom strands first.
