Independent Watkins Assoc #393833 - Jan Couto - StumbleUpon. Love at first bite. SUCH an overworked expression, but still… when you’re talking cheesecake, the tiniest bite is capable of sending you into paroxysms of ardor. The richness of the cream cheese! The delightful interplay of tangy and sweet; the barely crunchy crust cradling its ultra-smooth filling… Be still, my heart! There’s one problem with a traditional cheesecake, though; it’s REALLY hard to serve it in really small pieces.

Take that same luscious cheesecake, though, bake it in a square pan, and all of a sudden it’s easy to have, literally, “just a tiny bite.” A 1” x 1” cube of cheesecake? Before you start: you’ll want to have 16 ounces (two large packages) of cream cheese at room temperature; so give yourself a couple of hours for this to happen. Preheat the oven to 375°F. First, the crust. 1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs, about 8 whole crackers 4 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon 5 tablespoons melted butter.

Are they tricky to get right?!” I replied, “Nope! In fact, churros are the easiest doughnuts of all to make. There are only basic three steps!” She didn’t believe me, so I whipped up a batch that night, outlining the three steps and texted her with photos at each stage just to prove my point (hooray for technology!). She was so surprised that it only took me about twenty minutes to prepare a fresh batch of these delicious crispy doughnuts. For the doughnuts, I have a recipe that I’ve been using for years, and it never fails me. It really is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Chocolate Chip Lava Cookies.

I am so in love with these darn chocolate lava cookies!

Chocolate Chip Lava Cookies

What is it about a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie stuffed with decadent, rich, melted chocolate that makes it so irresistible?? Especially when topped with vanilla ice cream. These are one of Kev’s favorite homemade treats, and he usually asks me to make them at least once a week. They are so simple to whip up, and such a treat! Let’s make some right now :) All you really need for these fabulous cookies is your favorite cookie dough and a bag of chocolate chips. Since these cookies are absolutely gushing with delicious rich chocolate, my favorite chocolate chips for this recipe are the Hersey’s Milk Chocolate chips. Now let’s make some chocolate lava cookies! Place the flattened cookie dough in the bottom of a well-greased standard sized muffin tin. Now for our gooey, rich milk chocolate filling. Lay the Ziploc bag flat in the microwave, spreading out the chocolate chips in a single layer. Heaven help me. Mama mia. 1. 2. 3.

Here's an overview of the basics, plus a recipe with more specific instructions. Weighing/Measuring the Ingredients Professional bakers prefer the accuracy of weighing ingredients, but if you don't have a kitchen scale, stick to volume measurements. For flour, use the scoop-and-swipe method: Fill the measuring cup above the desired amount and swipe off the excess with a flat tool, such as a pastry blade or an icing spatula. As with all bread recipes, you may need to slightly adjust the flour or water during the mixing and kneading process. For ingredients used in small amounts, such as yeast and salt, measure with teaspoons and tablespoons instead of a scale—unless you're making an extra-large batch. Mixing & Kneading This part of bagel making involves turning a relatively low-yeast, low-hydration recipe into a stiff dough that can stand up to the rigors of boiling later.
