La Profondeur de Champ (P de C ou PdC) se détermine par le choix du diaphragme. Avec un appareil photo sans système de bascule du plan-film ou du plan de l’objectif, les différents plans de netteté sont parallèles entre eux et parallèles au plan du film ou au plan du capteur numérique. La chambre grand format, appelée aussi banc optique, permet par ses grandes possibilités de bascule et décentrement une plus grande maîtrise de la profondeur de champ. Ce qui en fait un appareil toujours apprécié, malgré l’avènement du numérique.
Il est à noter qu’il est possible d’adapter un dos numérique sur une chambre grand format. La netteté faite sur un endroit précis du sujet, ne s’arrête pas brutalement mais, s’étend progressivement sur une zone plus ou moins étendue, en avant et en arrière du sujet, par rapport au point de prise de vue. Pire, ils ne savent en généralement pas à quoi cet accessoire peut bien servir ! Sur un appareil reflex, la visée se fait au travers de l’objectif. Pour conserver un viseur bien clair, les ingénieurs ont mis au point ce que l’on appelle la présélection du diaphragme. Comme son nom l’indique « pré sélection », ce dispositif permet de choisir le diaphragme qui sera utilisé au moment du déclenchement, mais seulement au moment du déclenchement. En effet, si vous choisissez une ouverture assez réduite comme f/16 ou f/22, le trou laissant passer la lumière dans l’objectif étant très réduit, votre visée serait très sombre. Nikon D810 Review.
