Maurice sauzet. ExpoNet - the magazine for FoodConscious people. Work / Mir - Bergen, Norway.

Tectoniques / Architecture & Engineering / - Project - Block 32. Block 32 occupies a strategic position in the vast programme to renovate the Duchère neighbourhood, in Lyon. The OPAC du Rhône housing association has produced a building which incorporates 33 social rental housing units, 1,500m2 of office space dedicated to health-related activities, and has retail space throughout the ground floor.

Its central location, at the crossroads between the new Abbé Pierre square and the east / west boulevard, means it is highly visible and its proximity to the athletics hall imposes the need for a resoundingly urban attitude. Following on from the architects’ work on the Mozart urban development zone in Saint-Priest, the intention was to meet the new challenges of the urban environment, promote the use of wood as a material and show that urban living can be pleasurable and fun.

Despite the technical complexity of the building, the architectural style is soft and joyful. A resoundingly urban attitude Various factors relating Mixed-use programme Mixed construction. Indian Architects | ArchitectureLive! Recent ruling by Madhya Pradesh High Court has put the whammy on architects. Architects in India is a small community of about 60000 professionals, but every year the number seems to be substantially growing. On the other side Engineers (Civil) are in lakhs. The fight over ‘powers’ and roles between architects and engineers is not new. Both Architects Act 1972 and National Building Code have several ambiguities and gaps which must be addressed. The Council of Architecture and many other organisations seem to be actively working towards reducing these ambiguities and define roles more clearly. We invited views on the matter from some architects, which we will share here as and when these come.

Once Building / Adamo-Faiden. Architects: Adamo-Faiden Location: Nuñez, Buenos Aires, Argentina Principals in Charge: Sebastián Adamo, Marcelo Faiden Collaborators: Luciano Intile, Iván Fierro, Giuliana Nieva, Carolina Molinari, Juliana de Lojo Project Area: 940 sqm Project Year: 2011 Photographs: Cristóbal Palma The building is situated in Núñez, a neighborhood whose development brings a balanced densification to the city of Buenos Aires. Its perifheral condition and efficient connectivity with the rest of the city turns it today into a desirable alternative for residential and tertiary programmes. The building incorporates to its own organization this notion of mixed city through the construction of six spaces, which are programmatically undetermined but spatially specific, understanding that a path to the intensification of the inhabitating opens from this apparent contradiction.

Red Apple Apartment Building / Aedes Studio. Architects: Aedes Studio Location: Sofia, Bulgaria Year: 2013 Photographs: Courtesy of Aedes Studio The surrounding neighborhood consists mostly of apartment blocks that date back from the 70’s. The buildings are large with enough space in-between and plenty of greenery. Because the whole area is built in relatively short period of time and not very long ago, it lacks the typical historic layers of the city center. Here the connection to nature is direct enough, the access to all city-conveniences – fast enough and easy, what makes the area nice to dwell. The atmosphere in the city is a result of two very important factors. Aedes Studio set the uneasy task to design a new “old building”; a contemporary building with past – a building that contains opposites. The backbone of the concept is the brick – the material that brings together the idea of old and new.

The structure (old – new / harmonious order – dynamic chaos) The code of the building consists of a perforated brick shell. Apartment Building Casp 74, Barcelona, 2009 - Bach Arquitectes. The conception of an apartment building in Cerdà’s Eixample in Barcelona 150 years after the implementation of the famous “Plan Cerdà” induces a reflection how to conceive the project and specifically the facades in a way that responds to the necessities of the 21st century while maintaining a dialogue and respect for the years of history.

The traditional elements as the balcony, the blinds, the cornices and the colors are reinterpreted here in a way that not only integrates into the built environment, but does so in a way that incorporates both passive and active energy saving solutions. The building program is made up of 27 apartments and two commercial spaces with attics that look out over Casp Street. The typical floor houses 5 one and two bedroom apartments. 13 users love this project. Modern High-Rises on Pinterest | 948 Pins. NMDA-PROJECTS. AUD : News & EventsWINNERS_FACULTY + ALUMNI. I got a Metric Handbook and I have to say this book is a big let down.

I was told by the lecturer that it was a good buy, I should have went for the neufert, its way much better. These books are every architect’s bible. The Neufert – Architects’ Data, 4th Edition comes with 648 pages and 6200 illustrations, believe me, it is going to burn a hole in your pocket… well, not really, depends on how you search for that book – ONLINE. Yes, that is the magical word, with today’s super fast unlimited broadband, everyone is a pirate.
