A Tutorial in AS3 with Flashdevelop. A little while ago when I first started getting interested in flash I looked around for an open source IDE and discovered Flashdevelop( I’ve always wanted to make some games so I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and make a few games in Flash as a side project.
My day job is as a Java Developer and it seemed like a good way to leverage my programming skills while at the same time working on something different enough to keep me from going crazy. In an effort to get some of my friends to join me I wrote up a AS3 guide for beginners in Flashdevelop, I found when I first started that while there were a lot of really good sources out there for AS3 most of them assumed you would be working with Flash Professional. Considering I’m going to be documenting my game creation journey here as well as providing all the source code I thought it would be a good place to post my tutorial as well, I hope you enjoy it.
