There are three different activities in this freebie. 1st page "Find Someone Who... " Students will talk with classmates to find out if they fit into any of the categories listed below. 2nd page Students will brainstorm a list words related to school that begin with each letter of the alphabet. 3rd page Students will write about their summer vacation.

A few years ago we featured this fabulous board and thought it offered a great jumping off point for a collaborative project as well as classroom decoration for the first few weeks of school! "I Am Unique" Puzzle Piece Craftivity We love using the puzzle illustration to show students that each of them, with their different abilities, interests, and skills, have a special and important part to play in the classroom community - i.e. it takes all of the unique puzzle pieces, fit into their unique places, to create a whole picture.

This week we have had a bunch of fun taking Little Big Man’s favorite song- Itsy Bitsy Spider- and extending it with a fun Fine Motor Craft! Introducing the Itsy Bitsy Spider Finger Puppet! I discovered an easy shortcut for working with craft foam that is my new favorite trick! You’ll see in my photo that I include a plastic lid and sharpie marker in the supplies, but it is not what you think! I actually did not trace anything to make this craft! My kids are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 and the Sharpie Marker cap made just about the right size hole for their fingers.
