Today I thought I would share a fun visual aid that I created to use when I talk about the weather with my little ones. I have been meaning to make one of these since we started doing tot school, but am just now getting around to it.

Better late than never, I say! To start with, I decided I just wanted five basic symbols; sunny, rainy, cloudy, snowy, and windy. To create the symbols, I did a quick Google search and found several free pdf templates for felt weather symbols. For the sun, I used light yellow for the outside and darker yellow for the inside, just like the original tutorial. Next I cut out three white clouds using the tiny templates provided.

For the raincloud, I did not have gray felt so I chose to make the cloud purple. To spice up the snowflake and make it a little more substantial, I decided to use topstitching to attach it to a lighter blue background. I kinda’ like the imperfect look on this one, don’t you? How to Homeschool Preschool. The years between 2 and 5 are so formative. So much of the “foundation” of your child’s interests and temperament is being nurtured and awakened. They are also developing skills that they can use in school for years to come. We have homeschooled all of our kids for preschool – including our youngest kids who are still learning and playing at home.

This is what we have done to instill a love of learning with our kids. We would love to hear what homeschooling looks like for your preschoolers – or if you are a preschool teacher, share your tips in our Facebook Community. (affiliates included)Pin ABCs.
