One dictionary definesa "curator" as someone in charge of a museum or library! So in that sense, librarians have always been curators. Today much of the information our students need and use is digital: websites, blogs, wikis, tweets, videos,podcasts, images, ebooks, databases, slideshows, graphics, reports, articles, illustrations, clipart and moreis found online and/or in digital form and accessed through our computers, on our smartphones or other mobile devices.. Rich snippets are “blog” posts that fall between Twitter and the 500 to 1,000 words I would write in Scenttrail Marketing. I was taught NOT to pass through links on Scoop.it early on by the great curator @Robin Good .

Bryan is correct that some curators new to Scoop.it haven’t learned the Robin Good lesson yet. For my part I always identify my Scoop.it links, probably about half the content I Tweet and about a quarter of my G+ shares. When you follow or consistently share content from a great curator on Scooop.it you begin to understand HOW they shape the subjects they curate. So, sorry you are sad to see Scoop.it links and understand your frustration.

Para trabajar e intentar conseguir esta competencia en cualquiera de las áreas curriculares será muy importante que los docentes comiencen a utilizar,para el trabajo diario, algunas de las herramientas que proporciona la web para el tratamiento y gestión de la información, lo que se ha denominado curación de contenidos. En estos momentos la web es un enorme repositorio de recursos y fuentes de información y es imprescindible cada vez más que los estudiantes sepan encontrar, sintetizar, filtrar, compartir y construir contenido a partir de información que se encuentra dispersa y es super abundante. Para aprender a separar el grano de la paja, los estudiantes deberían participar activamente en procesos de curación digital junto con los profesores.
