Harry Houdini (born Erik Weisz in Budapest, later Ehrich Weiss, Harry Weiss, or Harry Weiß; March 24, 1874 – October 31, 1926) was a Hungarian-American illusionist and stunt performer, noted for his sensational escape acts. He first attracted notice as "Harry Handcuff Houdini" on a tour of Europe, where he challenged police forces to keep him locked up. Soon he extended his repertoire to include chains, ropes slung from skyscrapers, straitjackets under water, and having to hold his breath inside a sealed milk can. Houdini made several movies, but quit acting when it failed to bring in money. He was also a keen aviator, and aimed to become the first man to fly a plane in Australia.

In 1981, they began performing exclusively together as "Penn & Teller", an act that continues to this day.

On April 5, 2013 Penn and Teller were honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the live performance category. Their star, the 2,494th awarded, is near the star dedicated to Harry Houdini.[9] The following day they were recognized by the Magic Castle with the "Magicians of the Year" award.[9] Teller almost never speaks while performing, although there are occasional exceptions, usually when the audience is not aware of it. For example, he provided the voice of "Mofo the psychic gorilla" in their early Broadway show with the help of a radio microphone cupped in his hand. The line that moves him to tears is the line which says 'Look, I made a hat where there never was a hat’ saying about it "I can’t say that line without choking up, because it states, in profoundly poetic terms, what I have always wanted to do with my life. It’s so simple and so funny, but boy, it hits me deep.”Directed and co-wrote the Off-Broadway show Play Dead.Describing his partnership with Penn Jillette, Teller says “We are artistic and business partners, not primarily friends. " -JADE Female magicians? You mean there's women out there who actually perform magic professionally?

Yes - and they are gradually multiplying like bunnies from a hat. There are approximately 100 full-time female magicians in the world. Women overall are a minority of the magicians who perform today. For centuries, men have run the gamut in the world of magic; historically, women have been the magician's assistant; pushing props on and off stage; getting shoved into boxes, being implemented in a myriad of torture devises; dancing and often, making the magic work while the magician gets the applause. Now the shoe's on the other foot. Many magicians' wives have done their share on stage, but almost always as assistants. Today, husband and wife teams like Kalin and Jinger, share the applause, working as a team to create some of today's hottest illusions. • Melinda - First Lady of Magic • 'Magic Babe' Ning • Angela Funovitz • Luna Shimada • Arian Black • Ava Do • Tina Lenert • Amila.

Freediving (also free diving,free-diving) is a form of underwater diving that relies on a diver's ability to hold his or her breath until resurfacing rather than on the use of a breathing apparatus such as scuba gear.

Examples include breath-hold spear fishing, freedive photography, recreational breath-hold diving, apnea competitions, and to some degree, snorkeling. The activity that garners the most public attention is the extreme sport of competitive apnea in which competitors attempt to attain great depths, times, or distances on a single breath. History[edit] Underwater diving was practised in ancient cultures to reclaim sunken valuables, and to help aid military campaigns. In ancient times free diving without the aid of mechanical devices was the only possibility, with the exception of the occasional use of reeds and leather breathing bladders.[1] The divers faced the same problems as divers today, such as decompression sickness and blacking out during a breath hold.

After some negotiation, Valentino signed to do the program, promising that he would only reveal the secrets behind old illusions. New episodes of the show later returned to broadcast on MyNetworkTV.
