International affairs - Enterprise and Industry
Going global One of the key objectives of DG Enterprise and Industry is to ensure that the Commission's policies make European enterprises more competitive, thus stimulating economic growth and creating more jobs. This strategy for growth and jobs, Europe 2020, not only looks inwards at the EU (aiming to make Europe a more attractive place in which to live and work), but also has an external dimension: to ensure that EU companies can compete fairly in the global marketplace, by opening up markets and further liberalising trade. More In order to achieve these objectives, the Commission is establishing a framework for more effective international regulatory cooperation, reinforcing the synergy between this cooperation and the Market Access Strategy. DG Enterprise and Industry works closely with other DGs in the Commission, namely the DGs for External Relations , Trade and Enlargement , to ensure that enterprise aspects and expertise are taken into account when formulating the overall policy.U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry meets with EU High Representative Catherine Ashton at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., February 14, 2013 Ashton meets meets co-chair of the Somali technical selection comittee Halima Ismail Ibrahim Catherine Ashton with President Mwai Kibaki on Kenya on 29 August.

Taxation and Customs Union - European commission
This website has been created by the European Commission's DG for Taxation and Customs Union , in close collaboration with representatives from national customs administrations and trade. It aims to clearly communicate information for traders on the safety and security amendment to the Community Customs Code . It is a forerunner to the comprehensive European Customs Information Portal foreseen at a later stage. The portal brings together in one website a variety of relevant information, such as EU legislation and explanatory documents on the safety and security amendment of the Community Customs Code, news items, and links to databases, documents and procedures used by national customs administrations. It also explains through the use of interactive “model transactions” the main steps in standard import, export and transit customs procedures into/out of the EU. More information: Videos , Flyer
