Davon entfielen zuletzt 26 Prozent (1999 erst 21 Prozent) auf die Baumärkte, 24 Prozent auf den Agrar-Fachhandel und 23 Prozent auf die Gartencenter, deren Marktanteil um einen Prozentpunkt zurückging.

Größter Teilmarkt ist Blumenerde (539 Millionen Euro), gefolgt von Pflanzenschutzmitteln (500 Millionen Euro), Gartendünger und Blumenpflege (jeweils gut 200 Millionen Euro) sowie Rasendünger (knapp 117 Millionen Euro).
