http://www.elementalcustard.com/pages/MintGelato.php Monday June 25, 2012 It's gelato time. Too hot to turn on the oven. Heat means you need something cool to make. Obviously I interpret that as eat ALL the ice cream. But I would rather eat tasty homemade ice cream that you made with love in your homemade ice cream machine.

Lemongrass Ice Cream

http://www.girlcooksworld.com/2012/06/lemongrass-ice-cream.html Lemongrass Ice Cream I mentioned earlier that some of the best food I’ve ever eaten was in Vietnam, primarily in stalls in back alleys and nondescript restaurants. It literally makes me want to cry when I hear of people going to Vietnam and not eating the street food (worried about your stomach? Try grapefruit seed extract ).

Blueberry Mascarpone Tart

I love the simple joys of summer. Waking up at 6:30am to go to the Minneapolis farmer’s market on a Saturday morning isn’t one of them, though. But as much as I moan and groan when getting up to go, once I am there I am in my happy place. I have my favorite vendors that I go to every weekend. One for fresh herbs and greens. The other is this family that has the most amazing fruits and vegetables.

Fried Mozzarella Sticks

Okay, okay. Fine. Mozzarella sticks, American chain restaurant, yum, good, everyone loves them, yada yada yada. Please listen. You haven’t tried fried mozzarella sticks until you’ve made them yourself at home, and you haven’t tried fried mozzarella sticks until you’ve made these fried mozzarella sticks. Marlboro Man loves American chain restaurant mozzarella sticks (he’s such an easy date)…and last night he proclaimed these the best he’s ever eaten. http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2010/05/fried-mozzarella-sticks-oh-dear/
We’re submerged in football right now. There’s no other way to put it. Marlboro Man is coaching my two boys’ football team, Marlboro Man and I are both tuned in and watching all the college games we can find on TV…and if that wasn’t enough, we’ve also gone to some of our local high school’s home games on Friday night. There’s nothing like high school football games to send you soaring back to adolescence.

Frito Chili Pie

When I posted my recipe for "The Best Lasagna Ever" yesterday, I couldn’t have anticipated that I’d wind up hearing from Draco, a real-live Italian who lives near Bologna, Italy, where lasagna was first created. Nor could I have ever predicted I’d hear from MP, who lives in an Italian neighborhood and buys Parmiganno-Regianno by the bag, dang it. I might just go ahead at this point and clarify that yes, my lasagna is, in fact, "The Best Ever"… unless you live near Bologna, Italy or in an Italian neighborhood or anywhere near Mario Batali . http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/06/the_best_chocol/

The Best Chocolate Sheet Cake. Ever.

Sometimes, you want to bake something sweet but you are out of inspiration. A few days later you're sitting on your best friends sofa and you are laughing at her because her husband is giving her grief for buying a 1kg jar of nutella! She loves nutella, but I've never seen her with a 1kg jar before.

Nutella Cheesecake

In less than 20 minutes you can have this moist and dense pound cake ready to go into the oven. Perhaps it is the low and long baking time, or the addition of cream cheese that keeps this cake from being dry. I have made it numerous times and have never had a problem. It is full of flavor by itself but if you prefer to dress it up, you can add a glaze and top with berries. Bring the ingredients to room temperature and be sure to grease and flour your pan well. http://gratefulprayerthankfulheart.blogspot.com/2012/02/cream-cheese-pound-cake-with-snowy.html

Cream Cheese Pound Cake with Snowy White Glaze

When I tell you this, take me very seriously…..run, don’t walk to your nearest grocery store and make these today! I knew I wanted to make a Nutella treat the other day and when this simple idea came to mind I had no idea how crazy good it would be! The pastry with the gooey disappearing marshmallow and nutella make for a treat that you just must try for yourself! http://picky-palate.com/2010/11/08/nutella-mallow-pillow-pockets/
