What was remarkable about both meetings is how much each of them were up on what I was doing, because they read every post on Scripting News, apparently quite carefully. Which is great, of course -- that's why I write a blog, to share what I see with others. And if we become friends, even better. It can be a way for me to meet and "engage" with cool people. But what a surprise! Because I never hear from either of these people. Anyway. If you read a post here that you like or feel makes a strong point, even if you disagree, either "like" it on Facebook (I post links to most of my posts there these days) or retweet it on Twitter.

As you have probably heard, the NSA has been getting awfully friendly with our digital information -- and at the center of it is this guy: The Guardian Coming soon to a CIA torture cell near you!

That's Edward Snowden, a former contractor for the NSA who originally exposed the shady surveillance program and will no doubt be played by Matt Damon in the inevitable movie. Then again, what with the short blond hair and the boring first name coupled with an obvious action movie last name, it's almost as if that's already happened. Edward Snowden is ... SNOWED IN. You're probably skeptical -- but comparing the facts, this whole story stinks more than The Bourne Legacy. For starters, Snowden comes from a mild-mannered background in Nowheresburg, America, just like Jason Bourne. We can't confirm that Snowden also killed a man with a rolled-up magazine, but we have to assume so. The Daily CallerBeing a wanted man has never seemed like such a viable life choice. The two reporters even look the same. Nelletorr : There was a time … (taken... I Would Like to Be Pope. Dear sir or madam, I am writing to apply for the position of Pope.

I recently received my Bachelor of Arts, or “artium baccalaureus,” from Dartmouth College, with a major concentration in Theatre Studies and a minor concentration in Computer Science. While I have been focusing on the technology and financial sectors, I have recently decided to widen my job search to include top non-profits, such as your organization. I became aware of the availability of the position of Pope through the Dartmouth listserv; I am greatly impressed by the achievements of The Catholic Church and share many of its goals. Over the past four years, I have worked tirelessly to receive the kind of well-rounded education that is indispensible to today’s leaders, whether in the boardroom, the operating room, or the Vatican.

As your website notes, the role of Pope includes “Guiding the College of Cardinals, and the masses.” I thank you in advance for your consideration, John Ortved.
