Calibration. Motion-charts-with-r - Using the Google Visualisation API with R. Simple, scalable parallel computing in R. REvolution Computing has just released three new packages for R to CRAN (under the open-source Apache 2.0 license): foreach, iterators, and doMC.

Simple, scalable parallel computing in R

Together, they provide a simple, scalable parallel computing framework for R that lets you take advantage of your multicore or multiprocessor workstation to program loops that run faster than traditional loops in R. The three packages build on each other to implement a new loop construct for R -- foreach -- where iterations may run in parallel on separate cores or processors. iterators implements the iterator object familiar to users of languages like Java, C# and Python to make it easy to program useful sequences - from all the prime numbers to the columns of a matrix or the rows of an external database. Iterators objects are used as the index variable for the parallel loops. foreach builds on the "iterators" package to introduce a new way of programming loops in R. Modeling Traffic-Related Air Pollution with Rcaline

This steady-state, Gaussian dispersion model, and its cousins CAL3QHC and CAL3QHCR, are used to predict aerosol concentrations downwind from mobile emission sources such as highway traffic. (If you know how I can get the source for CALINE4, email me!) With suitable input data, Rcaline can be used to generate maps of traffic-related air pollutants such as carbon monoxide or particulate matter. University of Minnesota, Twin Cities School of Statistics Charlie's Home Page This web page provides an illustration or three of Sweave, which is literate programming for R or (a newer buzzword) a package for reproducible research.

An Sweave Demo

Sweave is an R function now available by default. Its author is Friedrich Leisch and its web site is just a directory, not a web page wherein one can find the manual, the FAQ, and three papers about it. Contents Literate Programming The term literate programming was coined by Donald Knuth, one of the true geniuses of computing, the author/inventor of TeX, among other things. The basic idea is that. Knitr: Elegant, flexible and fast dynamic report generation with R. Overview The knitr package was designed to be a transparent engine for dynamic report generation with R, solve some long-standing problems in Sweave, and combine features in other add-on packages into one package (knitr ≈ Sweave + cacheSweave + pgfSweave + weaver + animation::saveLatex + R2HTML::RweaveHTML + highlight::HighlightWeaveLatex + 0.2 * brew + 0.1 * SweaveListingUtils + more).

This package is developed on GitHub; for installation instructions and FAQ’s, see README. This website serves as the full documentation of knitr, and you can find the main manual, the graphics manual and other demos / examples here. Latex Allergy Cured by knitr. Interactive HTML presentation with R, googleVis, knitr, pandoc and slidy. Tonight I will give a talk at the Cambridge R user group about googleVis.

Interactive HTML presentation with R, googleVis, knitr, pandoc and slidy

Following my good experience with knitr and RStudio to create interactive reports, I thought that I should try to create the slides in the same way as well. Christopher Gandrud's recent post reminded me of deck.js, a JavaScript library for interactive html slides, which I have used in the past, but as Christopher experienced, it is currently not that straightforward to use with R and knitr. Thus, I decided to try slidy in combination with knitr and pandoc. And it worked nicely. Knitr showcase: Examples from other users. EME Systems Environmental Product Index. Solar Module for Arduino. Solar Charger Shield v2.0b. Introduction The solar charger is a stackable shield to Arduino compatible platforms, enables adaptive battery power and act as energy harvester for in-field charging. You may use various batteries that has the voltage of 2.7V-4.2V to shift up for 5V output, or put on Li-ion battery and solar panel to form an autonomous sensor unit. The maximum current provided by the board can get up to 700mA.
