draw, Gabby, draw!

A watercolor and pencil thing. Have a great weekend! Was poking around Temescal Alley yesterday and found this beauty in Crimson . It really really wanted to live with me so I was like ok. http://drawgabbydraw.tumblr.com/

I've been hesitant in updating with this but- These are the worst photos ever (taken quick through my iphone), but I thought I'd show people what I'm experimenting with, for now, in my Elements class. I've been messing around a little with projectors for our next assignment, which is too complicated for me to care to explain right now. It might be cool using a moving image in replace of the still one, or maybe having something reflected on the ceiling in the future. The glass was a pain in the ass, because if it moved the tiniest bit then the pieces of the reflected drawing would get really out of place. Eh. http://www.raepaints.blogspot.com/

Size: 23 x 23 in. The first four drawings are introductory, forming a gallery of heavy-headed, skull-helmeted busts seen mainly in profile; these figures come to be associated with the executioners of the innocents in later drawings. In the first, the skull hemlet suggests the German visored military campaign hat. The neck, shoulders and chest, all encased like a sausage, further suggest an entombment in clothing, a condition of being half-buried in life. . . .
