21st Century Ecology of Life · Body, Soul and Spirit 2: The Way

In my second posting ( 1st here ) on this beginning exploration and reassessment of what I’ve come to see as true, beautiful and good I’m going to look more into what Soul is and does . And again, I’m just going to go with my meanderings and contemplations; I’m not trying to be comprehensive and go through the history of that idea, or into explaining what distinguishes it from psyche etc. Much of that you can find by googling it and looking it up in the wikipedia and similar. http://www.mushin.eu/en/blog/body-soul-and-spirit-2-the-way-of-the-soul/
Rather, there is also a form of co-creation that is largely independent of markets, where individuals willingly come together to create and share self-generated information, knowledge and content independent of any mechanisms of market exchange. http://chrislawer.blogs.com/chris_lawer/2009/04/market-and-nonmarket-cocreation.html

A theory that explains the evolution of ecosystems may apply to civilizations as well-and it says we're approaching a critical phase. http://blog.p2pfoundation.net/public-surpport-for-value-creation-through-the-commons-4-principles-and-3-institutions/2008/07/17 David Bollier gave a great speech in April about commons-based value creation and what public authorities could do to stimulate it, by focusing on a fourfold strategy framework . I’m excerpting his proposals below, and add my own proposals, for a three-fold infrastructure of public institutions which could support such actions and strategy. Bollier’s speech is a call to arms: I say it’s time to explore how government can play a more active role in nurturing the commons sector and the type of value that it creates.

“I argue here that the choice of Ostrom for this important award is perhaps more significant for Africa’s poor than the recognition bestowed upon president Obama, our collective pride for the latter’s international respect notwithstanding. http://blog.p2pfoundation.net/africa-the-return-of-the-commons/2009/11/18
http://blog.p2pfoundation.net/needlessly-expensive-patent-funding-may-derail-climage-change-efforts/2009/11/15 Europe’s institutions seem to have pledged support for green IPR protection. Even environmental groups seem to agree money paid to big business in licenses — even if these are questionable — could be crucial in pushing toward a climate deal in December.

“A person inclined to follow P2P really wants to like the Maia Maia project , and I do, in principle. I really hope it works, but it won’t–in practice. The idea is fairly simple: Implement a carbon reduction club and thereby earn a standard amount of “booyas” which are a currency coupon to be used at local vendors supporting the (hopefully) viral movement.

As I woke up, I immediately knew: the meaning of this dream will grow with me, keep unfolding; I will see clearer the guidance that I’m getting from it, over the years. At the time of that dream, in the early seventies, I was living in Hungary under communist governance, between two markers of my life's journey: http://www.community-intelligence.com/blogs/public/archives/cat_ways_of_tuning_with_collective_consciousness.html

Collective Intelligence

While people have talked about collective intelligence for decades, new communication technologies—especially the Internet—now allow huge numbers of people all over the planet to work together in new ways.

Collaborative Conversations Include More Voices - Make Better Ch

If you spend more than two hours a week in face-to-face, phone or online meetings with people in order to get your work done, the chances are good that your work life will be significantly improved by incorporating the Collaborative Conversations approach. The Purpose of Collaborative Conversations is to include more voices in the conversations needed to create a mutually desired future, and to make better choices as a result of the broadened inclusion - even if there are hundreds of people involved.
