Through these exchanges the west began to develop a generalised and ficticious imagination of Asian culture as ‘the orient’.

Note various differences exist in stylistic form between Middle Eastern Arabesque Orientalism and East Asian (far east) Orientalism. I am not as familiar with the notion of an ‘Asian style’ as it has multiple meaning depending on where you look.
