Here's lookin at me kid Here's lookin at me kid For a few months now, I've been dreaming of making my blog more than what it is, and basically starting over from scratch. I had made a long list of fun projects to make and share, had lots of dreams for creative maternity outfits, and other fantastic features I thought you guys would enjoy seeing on my blog. During that time, I suffered some pretty major hits to my momentum, what with my miscarriage, my month-long illness this Spring, and morning sickness with this pregnancy. Well, I finally had enough with excuses and started busting my butt designing and preparing a home for all of these projects I've been working on behind the scenes. And guess what?
The Wedding Chicks Blog John and Katie’s teen spirit wedding in Texas truly has it all. Romance, class, and a kickass 90′s themed reception party to boot! Now who can say no to that!? When planning their wedding, these two “twitterpated” Texan’s were determined to make the whole day meaningful, and we would be the first to say, goal accomplished! Centered in their home town, with rings that memorialized their grandparents, and dance jams they grew up to, it’s no wonder their friends are already asking for a vow renewal! This gorgeous champagne and charcoal colored wedding took place at the lovely Texas venue, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. The Wedding Chicks Blog

I'm a cadillac charged article. by Michael Slenske Two decades ago, New York-based light sculptor Leo Villareal attended Burning Man (the annual week-long art event in Black Rock City, Nevada, which culminates around a wooden sculpture of a man set on fire) and the experience changed his life. A few years later Villareal returned to the Nevada desert with a 16-strobe light beacon of his own design, which he fixed to the roof of his group’s RV so that they could find their way home. “I was tired of getting lost, so I made my first piece which was sort of just a utilitarian thing to help me stay oriented. Yesterday, we headed out to a park we always forget exists despite the chilly temps. I was on a mission to find mushrooms! Nathaniel Green Park apparently has some fun play places, one of which is mushroom themed, that are not only interesting but interactive. Fun for the kids AND cute for photos, right? Not that we need much more cuteness than this. We didn't make it to the mushrooms but we did stumble upon a pretty little garden with a Ruby-sized bridge and a small pond full of tadpoles and water bugs. Smile and Wave Smile and Wave
A Beautiful Mess A Beautiful Mess Last year I stocked my first bar cart for our home. A lot of you asked me about tips for getting started. At the time I suggested just buying what you like and building it up over time. A year later I still agree with that advice, but have a little lot I want to add. Ready for a long post about liquor? K.
come darkness, part one I want to show you some of the working process of the pieces I did for the group show called "come darkness". I tried to print some wood blocks with sumi ink on different kind of papers. ( print making paper, lettra, water color paper, etc.) (This is the one I mixed sumi ink with oil ink on Lettra cotton paper.) I had special relationship with sumi ink.I grew up using sumi ink and brush to write the chinese characters in the writing class. One of the summer in my high school I begged my mom to let me study chinese painting. ah-yi ah-yi

Karen Mordechai Photography This weekend I had a great photo shoot with Lisa Hoffman, from Ceci Invitations. We did a few portraits and behind the scenes photos of Lisa at work. Her work is just beyond amazing - but what is remarkable about Lisa is that she is such a cool, beautiful and warm woman with a creative and inspiring spirit. It is so much fun to be around her !I wanted to share a few images from our shoot and also invite you to her holiday party at her new store. Karen Mordechai Photography
