Architecture & Design Culture Our design culture and traditions follow the Courtyard House which we built almost four decades ago in Poole, Dorset, England, now a Grade 2 listed building. This is essentially a 'Classic Contemporary Architecture' using Golden Section proportions and classic three / five composition. These roots are firmly connected to designs established by the Case Study Architects, Craig Ellwood for example, in California in the 1950s. Poole Harbour with its rich marine pine and rhododendron landscapes after all is the closest environment we have to LA / California in the UK. Most recent of these designs is Kingsgate House apartments, a leading design for clean architecture, low energy in use and low carbon in construction.
Earlier work prior to 1985 also included designs working with [now Sir] Norman Foster for Stansted Airport, The Sainsbury Centre for the Visual Arts, The Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank and other well known projects.
