Pure Data

Since we'll be using Pure Data to create sound, and since Pd treats sound as just another set of numbers, it might be useful to review how digital audio works. We will return to these concepts in the audio tutorial later on. A diagram showing how sound travels through your computer. The "Analog to Digital" & "Digital to Analog Conversion" is done by the soundcard. The "Digital System" in this case is Pure Data.
Abstract Pd was initiated by American software engineer Miller Puckette, who previous co-developed the well known and similarly structured software Max/Msp. Pd is not commercial software; i.e., it was not developed by a corporation and is not for sale. Instead, it is “open source”: its source code is not the (patented) property of a corporation, but is rather freely available to all. http://www.pd-tutorial.com/english/index.html

Arduino - HomePage

Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments. Arduino can sense the environment by receiving input from a variety of sensors and can affect its surroundings by controlling lights, motors, and other actuators. http://www.arduino.cc/

5 mai 2010 * Even though the binary package of GridFlow 9.10 (and later) for Ubuntu were compiled on Karmic (Ubuntu 9.10), it has been tested successfully on many versions including : Intrepid (8.10), Jaunty (9.04), Karmic (9.10) and Lucid (10.04). It also got to run on Hardy (8.04), with a bit more effort. Please send any questions or remarks to the gridflow-dev mailing-list.

http://reactivision.sourceforge.net/ a toolkit for tangible multi-touch surfaces reacTIVision is an open source, cross-platform computer vision framework for the fast and robust tracking of fiducial markers attached onto physical objects, as well as for multi-touch finger tracking. It was mainly designed as a toolkit for the rapid development of table-based tangible user interfaces (TUI) and multi-touch interactive surfaces. This framework has been developed by Martin Kaltenbrunner and Ross Bencina at the Music Technology Group at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. reacTIVision was designed as the underlying sensor component of the Reactable , a tangible modular synthesizer that has set the standards for tangible multi-touch applications.
