As a government bureaucrat engaged in technical, government, and speech writing, I played classical music to set the mood and drown out the phones and busy-ness of an office. Today, however, when I sit down to pen a chapter for my Carolina Slade suspense series or compose an editorial for FundsforWriters, I can’t stand to hear anything but silence.
