Bygselvhifi.dk writes: I just finished building a frequency synthesizer with the MAX038 waveform generator from MAXIM, you can download the datasheet here: MAX038 High-Frequency Waveform Generator. My circuit is a copy of the high frequency waveform generator in the datasheet, with a 16F877 PIC controlling the device. Below you can see some pictures of my design (click on the picture to enlarge it):The main PCB, with MAX038 high frequency waveform generator, powersupply and 16F877 PIC controlling the frequency synthesizer. I have detected a small error in the PCB, pin 11 and 12 on the MAX038 IC has to be connected to ground.

True Bypass Loopers, Switchers, Muters, and Volume Controls

Such projects are fun and easy because they are typically passive designs, easy to create with basic components, and don't require power or circuit boards. And there are lots of variations on what people are looking for. So it makes sense to have one big-ass article that covers as many variations as I can think of, all in one convenient place. Here we go... The Mute/Kill/Stutter Switch Let's start with the absolute simplest of switches: the Kill Switch. You can also see from this diagram the basic input and output jack arrangement. A great source for the Momentary SPST NC switch is at Small Bear: Input/output jacks: A Simple Volume Attenuator Let's say you want a foot-switchable volume attenuator.

Most of those items aren't even used. How about crediting the original creators? Homemade Plastic - Instructables - DIY, How To, craft. This is a quick and simple method for making your own general-purpose plastic. The constituent ingredients are milk and vinegar. That's it. The total cost is less than $10, possibly less than $5 if you can get a good deal. The plastic is moldable, and has a consistency of soggy cheese (I certainly hope I never encounter cheese that's anything like this!).

When all is said and done, it should take you about 10-15 minutes to make the plastic (less if you make a small amount), 10 minutes of cleanup, plus 2+ days to allow the plastic to dry. As for the final product's strength and whatnot, I would classify it as "okay. " All in all, I would say this is mostly useful for folks looking for a fast and dirt cheap alternative to much better products available to the average joe. No– wait– sorry. That’s just my USB drive. My bad. Never mind. (And after the jump, how to make your own.) It’s no secret that there are a lot of strange USB devices out there, particularly flash drives. Despite all that, the picture above is a little surprising– because yes, it’s a working USB flash drive. This is a KingMax 1 GB USB flash drive, one of the smaller varieties out there. The plastic cover is attached only weakly, by a bit of silicone adhesive, and peels off fairly easily to expose the bare printed circuit board of the flash drive. Next we need a victim USB cable. Cut deeply enough that you actually cut through to the metal shell underneath the rubber, at which point you can start to peel back the rubber parts. The metal shell underneath the rubber overmolding consists of two of pieces of thin steel that are stamped and folded into place.
