We received an email about a new book that has recently been published called 50 US Architects: Residential + Planning. The author, Damir Sinovcic, sent along some info and fab-u-lous photos. This beautifully illustrated, 11" by 11" volume presents a curated collection of exceptional residential and master planning work from leading American designers. Meticulously detailed and site-specific, the featured projects focus on sustainability, technology, and the human spirit. They reflect ideologies and philosophies that are rooted in the modernist doctrine or distilled from vernacular precedents. Each state in the country is represented with designs that are intended to showcase a sense of place through concept, craftsmanship, and material selection.
Imogen's textile practice spans wallpapers, fabrics, surfaces and desirable products for interior environments. Working across a wide range of media, including laser-cutting, embroidery, crochet and ceramics, she seeks to find new and innovative ways of exploring traditional crafts. Using antique lace, doilies and embroidered samplers as a starting point, her work aims to subvert these traditional practices by ‘digitising' their structures and reproducing them in unexpected materials.

Whenever I see a product I like or an image that inspires me I no longer have to save it to the bottomless pit of my hard drive.
The No. 216 sideboard, by Swedish designer Jesper Ståhl for Voice , is one sleek piece of storage furniture. The idea behind the design was for the door compartments to correspond to the A-series paper standards that are used worldwide. A0 (square meter) being the size of the whole unit and all the way down to A8 (74 mm x 53 mm), the smallest door on the unit. The doors are various shades of green giving it a bright, fun feel while the body of the unit and the legs are made of ash veneer. Hold the phone! Gro Furniture’s Bam B crib is so clever – besides converting to the standard toddler bed, it then converts into a play table or desk so that you can use the crib up until your kid goes off to college.
