The former director of education for the Court of Master Sommeliers Americas, he is an adjunct professor at the Rudd Center for Professional Wine Studies at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Napa Valley.

He has experience in all phases of the wine industry—online, wholesale, retail, winery, and restaurant—and has worked at Heitz Wine Cellars as well as San Francisco restaurants Bix and Cypress Club. He has developed wine-education programs for restaurants, winery schools, and wine distributors and taught classes on wine and spirits at every level of education. For the past 25 years, I’ve taught thousands of people at every level of expertise how to taste wine—from first-timers to master’s candidates.
