Szydełkowe sznury z koralików to świetna zabawa. Turkusowa bransoletka skończona :-).

Squeezed Daily-Tropical Living: bathrooms. I'm a huge fan of the shower curtain, I think they can give a bathroom so much character and soften an overall cold hard look that tiles can give to a bathroom. While I was parusing through the shower curtains on Anthropologie online store, I realised that not one of the new homes that I have interior designed have had a shower curtain, hundreds of homes, not one curtain? Clients would just not go there, are they just not practical ? I have had some clients choose curtains before when they renovated their home, mainly to keep the cost down by replacing the old one for a nice new one. Does a shower curtain have no business being in a new home? What do you think about shower curtains, thumbs up or down? Once Thanksgiving rolls around, I try to stay as far away as possible from any mall or shopping center. There’s nothing that kills holiday joy like traffic, crowds, greed and consumerism at its peak. If you want to avoid the malls, but don’t want to feel like a Scrooge this holiday season, consider giving homemade presents. Gifts made by hand are not only cheaper and greener than store-bought gifts, but also the physical act of making something can be therapeutic and ease any holiday-related stress. The following 25 gift ideas are easy for anyone to create. Gifts from the Kitchen: If cooking for others, consider including a tag that describes what ingredients are in your treats to avoid allergy issues.

Thanks! Knit Beanie Hat Tutorial. I was in Jackson Hole last weekend and saw a baby wearing the cutest beanie. It was perfect for spring days with a cold breeze when a heavy knit cap is too much and a hood won’t stay put. I asked the mama if I could take a look at it, of course, and she said her friend made it with old T-shirts. Awesome idea, and so simple to make. Here’s how to do it: Supplies: Old t-shirts or material like that (I used onsies for the smaller one)Your sewing stuff I used two 12 month onsies for the smaller cap and they worked perfect.

Cut the material so that you have 4 pieces identical in size. For a smaller cap (6 to 12 months): four 8½ inch by 7½ inch squares For a medium cap (1 to 2 years): four 9½ inch by 8½ inch squares For a larger cap (2 to 3 years): four 10½ inch by 9½ inch squares *you can add an inch for older kids, and take an inch for younger ones. From the squares you will cut out the shape as shown on a long side of the squares. It will look like this. You’re done! Isn’t it cute?! Fall Sewing Tutorials. I am working on 4 sewing projects at once currently, and have decided I need to be a little more, um…searching for the word…focused? Yes, that will do. The problem is I get started on one, get that pattern drafted, and then think I will work on it the next day. Then the next day I have another brilliant idea, and lose track of where I was the day before. Sound familiar?

Craftivism Published on April 10th, 2012 | by Becky Striepe Oh, junk mail!

Why do you invade my life? Even after signing up with Catalog Choice, I still get bills and credit card offers each week, and if you’re saving all that paper for possible future craft projects, they can add up quickly. We’re all familiar with the joys of crafting with junk mail, but have you ever peeked inside of those envelopes that house things like bills and bank statements? Inside many of those envelopes are printed patterns. The idea is that the printing on the wrong side of the paper prevents snoops from reading your mail through the envelope, but the side effect is that every day your mailman is basically delivering free, decorative paper to your house!

If you can’t stop the flow of junk mail, at least you can craft with it! When Tiffany Threadgould contacted me about her super cute fused plastic bag placemat tutorial, I knew it was too adorable not to share with you guys! No matter how hard you try, do you feel like those single-use plastic grocery bags always find their way into your house?

Whether a well-meaning friend brings snacks over in one or in a rush to get to the store you totally space and forget to bring a reusable bags, you probably have a little stash of these bags that you felt too guilty to throw away. Why not just recycle plastic bags? Plastic recycling is very inefficient. Any time you recycle plastic, you end up with a lower quality plastic than what you started with. When you’re making fused plastic fabric, it’s important to work in a well-ventilated area, either near an open window or even outside, if you can. Bigsbys Sewing Center March 23rd, 2014 What a treat to teach a three day class on embellishing leaves and circles!

I always love lengthy classes as you get so much more accomplished. Rosemary who owners Bigsbys in Milwaukee took my class at MISA last year so she was sold on us going a three day class. Her store is filled with embellishment fibers and hand dyed wool as you can imagine the class was filled with very enthusiast students. I was very fortunate to have a couple of hours to visit the Milwaukee Art Museum where there was a fabulous Folk Art Exhibit. Here are a few images for inspiration It is always wonderful to see completed projects . And the above blocks Debbie shared from my Mercer Lane book Thanks to Rosemary and all the students for a fabulous class.

TUTORIAL: Singlet Style Shopping Bag w Pattern (like the plastic shopping bag) I got the inspiration for this bag from here:....and on the purses, bags, wallets: discussions and questions board, pfirsch wanted to know how to make a more "finished" bag. I have also added another feature which allows the bag to be folded up into its own pouch (you will see this further down in the tutorial). The bag is made from one pattern piece. It's just like the plastic shopping bags and in fact the pattern is made from the shopping bag. The following picture shows the bag full (with three 2 litre drinks inside - and, BTW, carried them perfectly without the fear of the bag falling apart like the plastic ones). You start by making your pattern using.....ta da.... you guessed it, a plastic bag.

Open out the gusset and cut in half on both sides: Discard one piece and fold the remaining piece in half: Place this on the fold of your fabric and pin. Place one main fabric piece and one lining fabric piece right sides together and sew the middle "U" shape. This is what you should now have:
