Embellished Dreams

Today, I have a couple of fun and quick Valentines to share with you and also something crafty and fun that you can do with your kids. These are two of the Valentine projects I designed using Vintage Valentine Download E-Kit from Crafty Secrets. This kit is full of sweet little vintage Valentine's for kids and adults, tags, images and background paper. I used two of the tags from the Valentine tag and coupon sheet in the kit. I don't have a 12 x 12 printer so here is a little tip you can use for printing the coupon sheet. Here is a close up of the pretty sparkling roses. This is the mini bag of chocolate candy that is behind the tag--yummy!

For the top I made a tag using S5-105 Floral Tags and S5-084 Girlie Grunge Labels. Embellished Dreams. Map love. How to make gift bags from newspaper. When I bought something at a store recently, the clerk handed me my purchase in a bag made from a newspaper.

How to make gift bags from newspaper

I liked it very much and had to make some more—thus today's DIY recycled newspaper project: gift bags made from the Wall Street Journal. You can vary the dimensions, of course, but here's what I used to create a bag that's 5" tall, 4.5" wide, and 3" deep. Stack two sheets of newspaper on top of each other. This will be a two-ply bag for extra sturdiness. Cut out a rectangle that's 15.5" wide and 8.25" tall.

Fold a flap 1.25" down from the top. Cut two pieces of cardstock or chipboard to 4.25" x 1", then glue them on the widest two panels just under the top fold. Put glue on the outside of the 0.5" tab and bring the left-most panel over to form the body of the bag, aligning the cut edge of the panel with the folded edge of the flap. Upend the bag so the 2" flap is now up. How to Make a Sunburst Mirror - StumbleUpon. Letters - StumbleUpon. How to Make Clothing Buttons from Shrink Plastic&8230;. This tutorial is an old one of mine that’s too good not to share again.

How to Make Clothing Buttons from Shrink Plastic&8230;

Since posting the first time, I’ve had lots of questions about these buttons which will hopefully be answered in this revised post. Equipment Some handy notes: 1. The buttons. Single hole, hole punch (like this one here). 2. 3. Okay.. lets get started! Tracing tips: You can use either coloured pencils or permanent pens. Words must be writted backwards in order to be readable. Shrinking the buttons: To shrink the buttons, you can use an oven or a heat gun (the kind used for embellishing). After the buttons have twisted and twirled, and are LYING FLAT, it’s time to take them out. Note: If the skrinking is taking too long, you may need to turn your oven up. Here’s a short little stop-motion to make sure you’ve got the gist of how easy this is! Shrink Paper {here} Last Minute Holiday Cards / Cards. The holiday season is here, and even though we plan ahead of time, I always find myself needing a couple of quick cards at the last moment.

Last Minute Holiday Cards / Cards

Today’s cards are simple, and you can easily make them just before heading out the door to a party! You will need one 12 by 12 inch cardstock in white/cream or any other neutral color. Select upto 4 different holiday themed patterned papers and set to work. First, using a paper trimmer, cut your cardstock into three 4inch strips. From each strip, cut out a 4 inch piece. To make this card, use 4 different holiday punches on 4 different patterened papers. To make this card, punch out 11 circles using a medium round squeeze punch. It’s simple to make, couldn’t be less expensive and we can all use one. I for one am always losing my keys and this, by far, is the easiest way for me to keep track of them.
