The Henry Ford. The Henry Ford (also known as the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, and more formally as the Edison Institute) is a large indoor and outdoor history museum complex and a National Historic Landmark in the Metro Detroit suburb of Dearborn, Michigan, USA.[2][3] Named for its founder, the noted automobile industrialist Henry Ford, and based on his desire to preserve items of historical significance and portray the Industrial Revolution, the property houses a vast array of famous homes, machinery, exhibits, and Americana. The collection contains many rare exhibits including John F. Kennedy's presidential limousine, Abraham Lincoln's chair from Ford's Theatre, Thomas Edison's laboratory, the Wright Brothers' bicycle shop, and the Rosa Parks bus. Henry Ford said of his museum: I am collecting the history of our people as written into things their hands made and used.... PapaDoug Manchester. Developer Doug Manchester Buys Union-Tribune. Thursday, November 17, 2011 By Amita Sharma Aired 11/18/11 on KPBS News. The owner of The San Diego Union-Tribune announced Thursday it has sold the 143-year-old newspaper to MLIM, LLC, owned by real-estate magnate Doug Manchester. The owner of the San Diego Union-Tribune announced Thursday it has sold the 143-year-old newspaper to MLIM, LLC, owned by conservative real-estate developer Doug Manchester. The announcement ends weeks of speculation about Manchester's interest. John Lynch is president of Manchester's MLIM company. He said said he and Manchester -- who prefers the moniker "Papa Doug" and refers to himself that way on his Web site -- would not comment extensively on the sale.

Lynch has an extensive broadcasting background, including the operation and sale of a chain of radio stations based in San Diego and elsewhere. In a brief interview, Lynch told KPBS: "We want to be cheerleaders for all that is good in San Diego. " Manchester is a leading contributor to Republican causes. NovaRoma. News - Numinism.net. Mos maiorum. The Roman family was one of the ways that the mos maiorum was passed along through the generations Family and society[edit] The Roman family was hierarchical, as was Roman society.

It is perhaps a matter of perspective as to whether society replicated the power structure of its basic building block, the familia (better translated as "household" than "family"), or whether the male prerogative in a militarized society imposed itself domestically. [clarification needed] At any rate, these hierarchies were traditional and self-perpetuating, that is, they supported and were supported by the mos maiorum. The paterfamilias, or head of household, held absolute authority over his familia, which was both an autonomous unit within society and a model for the social order,[4] but he was expected to exercise this power with moderation and to act responsibly on behalf of his family. The risk and pressure of social censure if he failed to live up to expectations was also a form of mos. [citation needed] Beyond The Wiccan Rede - Other Pagan Ethics - RealPagan- Paganism for the Real World.

One thing which people often forget is that the Rede is the WICCAN Rede and appropriately only applies to Wiccans. Other paths and individuals might chose to use the Rede as a guideline, but they are certainly under no obligation to do so. That is not of course, to say that other Pagan paths don't have their own ethical teachings to follow or that by not following the Rede they are somehow "Bad". Several of the paths that I know of have very specific sets of values which guide their ethical choices as the Rede guides the choices of Wiccans.

For the Asatruar the guidelines are called the Nine Noble Virtues and in many ways they are more like the warrior code that might have been followed by a Viking in actual Pagan society. Hellenic (Greek) Reconstructionists try to follow the ethical codes discussed in surviving texts from ancient Greece. -Lark- The wixárika calendar project. The resulting 2006 Wixárika Calendar is a collaboration between the Wixárika community of San Miguel Huaixtita in the state of Jalisco (México), Sarah Corona Berkin (Universidad de Guadalajara) and University of Florida graphic design students (BFA 2006) Cassie McDaniel, Avery Smith, and 14 others enrolled in my spring 2005 junior-level Image and Illustration course. Between February and November 2005, we worked on this project to visualize the Wixárika concept of time both in Florida and in Mexico. When we began this project, a primary concern was our social and cultural responsibility to the Wixárika community.

This concern was at the foundation of our decision-making processes – in the ideation and design phases – in the visual and written language of the final calendar. Corona gathered the narrative specifically for this project from community leaders. We began the project with a proof concept for one of six seasons. Fire Rabbit. FIRE RABBIT Horoscope Feb 2, 1927 to Jan 22, 1928 Jan 29, 1987 to Feb 16, 1988 Rabbit people love to play under the moonlight. Quite fanciful, they respond to the power and beauty of nature and are always being pulled one way and the other to examine what they find. They are the luckiest of all twelve signs! But, it's more a result of "the harder I work, the luckier I get" than taking crazy chances.

Ginger Soup and Ginger Noodles are among the keys to good health!! The Fire Rabbit. 2-Feb-1927--22-Jan-1928 - Element-Fire(-) 29-Jan-1987--16-Feb-1988 - Element-Fire(-) The Rabbit is quick, clever and ambitious, but seldom finishes what he starts. He epitomizes gentleness, refinement and elegance. He prefers situations that are perfectly favorable according to his specific desires and will bypass all obstacles and persons he does not find suitable.

As a result, he is rarely angry, hostile or aggressive. The Rabbit is the happiest sign of the Zodiac -- gifted, nice to be with, discreet, refined, reserved, ambitious but not too much so, and virtuous in the bargain. Nobody ignores Rabbits, for they are good company and know how to make the best of themselves. However, Rabbits are superficial and their good qualities are superficial also. The Rabbit is a social creature, tactful, cool, and sensitive to others. Rabbits seem to be born with an innate sagacity, a natural shrewdness which makes them streetwise when it comes to the affairs of the world. Metaphysical Zone. Fernandocorona's Channel. Sociocracy: A Permaculture Approach to Community Evolution — Communities Magazine. Partial diagram of sociocratic organizational structure at Lost Valley Center. The water circle was a temporary circle that has since disbanded. The arrows stand for people who are representatives of one circle to the other circle. Author: Melanie Rios Published in Communities Magazine Issue #153 In 2008 Lost Valley took decision-making power away from its consensus-based intentional community and transformed into a hierarchical business. The organization (a 501(c)3 nonprofit operating an 87-acre permaculture education and conference center outside Dexter, Oregon) hoped to become more economically solvent through this change, but it continued to struggle financially. Two years later, in dire economic straits, we began integrating top-down and flat-hierarchical governance systems by adopting a system called sociocracy, which I learned about at a workshop by John Schinnerer at the Northwest Permaculture Convergence.
