14 Ways to Revamp Your Shoes. Click on the squares above to find the project's original source. Out of all the DIY fashion projects I've made, upcycling shoes has always been a go-to project for me. I never really realized how many pairs I've glued, decoupaged, beaded, stitched, or painted until I made this graphic-- most of the projects above are mine. (I can't decide if all those projects were time well-spent or just spent time? :)) Maybe the real explanation is that Imelda Marcos is one of my long-lost eighth cousins or something and my problem is hereditary...

Ha. I doubt the long-lost relations theory as much as I doubt that my shoe projects will stop anytime soon. ;) 1. 2. . , you can make a pair of weathered boots look new again. :) (PS-- A Beautiful Mess is one of the best DIY blogs around.) 3. When I go to the hardware store, my mind is always going crazy, I can think of thousand materials I want to bring home and transform them into something fun. This time I just couldn’t pass the pipe section! Copper pipes, I love the color! And the price was good, 10 Euro for 2,50m, who can say no to that! So today I show you, how to make a simple industrial style clothes rack with concrete feet.

. ► 3 copper pipes, 18mm, 2x 1.25m // 1x 1m ► 2 copper pipe fittings, 18mm ► Concrete mix ► Plastic boxes 20cmx15cm It is so simple that even the least handy person can manage to do it. I really loved the free people wrap bracelets (who wouldn't) but wanted something a bit more dressy because even though I see my self as this free spirit who walks barefoot in the grass and eats Tofu every chance I get, I am realistically closer to a meatball eating, tee shirt wearing gal who can be a bit high maintenance at times:) Woooo, that is a lot in one sentence.

Finished and I just love it! I have a special occasion in the city coming up and I am excited to break out this new bracelet:) Madigan Made { simple DIY ideas }: The Easiest DIY T-shirt Infinity Scarf. Madigan made… a super simple, no-sew, infinity scarf. Today is the second day of Simple Scarf Week! I should’ve started out the week with this scarf since it is the easiest scarf of all! Today’s scarf is this very simple infinity (i.e. mobius) scarf. Crafting inspiration strikes me during the most random moments.

I was cleaning out my closets recently and thought it was a shame to get rid of some of my t-shirts. The shirts were nice, but I hardly wore them. I figured I could make a few scarves out of the tees… so, of course, I grabbed a pair of scissors and started to experiment! Scarves from t-shirts are not a new idea… I came up with this scarf in my bedroom with a pair of scissors. You can make a fun scarf, too! OK, I'm a little embarrassed to call this a tutorial… it is that easy! Supplies needed: Old t-shirt Scissors Directions: Snip the shirt under the arm hole. And you are done! I made a couple of these scarves. But without a doubt, the pink striped one is my favorite!

Sharing with: No-Sew Polka Dot Infinity Scarf. It’s officially scarf weather. Even by Texas standards they’re welcomed with open arms instead of the judgmental stares from people that don’t share my fall weather love affair year-round. So, I thought I’d share my no-sew infinity scarf tutorial that I made for this craft wars post. Materials: T-shirt (the larger the shirt, the bigger the scarf)Foam pouncerAll-surface paintTapeScissors Lay your t-shirt flat, taping down the edges. Cut a line straight across just above the bottom hem and just below the sleeves or the armpit. Dip your pouncer in the paint color of your choice and start dotting.

Stamp your first row spaced however you’d like, then make the next row alternated from the first. You can wear it two ways, one long loop, or loop it around twice for a short, fuller scarf! I don't know what was wrong with me this week, but my creativity well dried up! I happened to be texting with fellow iLTC blogger, Margot Potter of DIYDoyenne.com, and mentioned in passing about my frustration. She sent me a text of one sentence that changed the course of my attitude: "Try a faux batik look! " I've already used a bleach pen and had to whip something different. Then I remembered how my other crafty friend, Denise from Pearmama.com, likes to use clear glue for a faux batik look. Within seconds, my juices were bubbling and I got to work. It sure helps to have crafty friends! Here's Brett, our tradeshow guru rocking out the new top I made!

Pink Stripey Socks: Paint your own galaxy umbrella. Inspired by Carl Sagan's quote, "We are made of star-stuff," I painted this galaxy umbrella: On the outside the umbrella is black. But open the umbrella up and wow, you're now standing under a galaxy full of twinkling stars. Let's get crafting! Materials: - Black umbrella - Painter's tape - Craft paint (I used black, red, yellow, blue, and white) - White fabric paint (I used the bottle because it had a nice tip to draw stars) - Martha Stewart Tintable Fabric Medium - Cups - Sponge - Stick for stirring - Palette (or crapty styrofoam plate) - Paper towel - Inspiring photo of the universe Directions: 1. PETE THE PANDA DRESS - hej, juni! How do you like my new pete the panda dress? I printed and painted this one of a kind panda dress as a DIY birthday project to myself. I'm often crafting and DIY-ing away for gifts to others, and rarely work on projects meant for my own use. This was quite a treat! I've had this plain white dress from Bershka for a few years now. The printing process is the same one I used for the panda cards.

DIY Colored Skinny Jeans « lizmarieblog.com lizmarieblog.com. I feel like a fashion designer!! Not quite, but seriously This DIY project was one of my favorites I have ever done not only because it was cheap & easy, but because I got a sweet pair of pants out of it! Ummm yes. These were blue jeans I have had for years in my closet & I was never going to wear them ever again due to them being a little a little baggy & not great looking denim anymore. I have been the same size since high school so you can imagine the amounts of old jeans I have in my closet. I put this picture on instagram {lizmariegalvan} a few weeks ago when I made them.. So here is the rundown on how I made them… I bleached the jeans in a five gallon bucket for about an hour.

I stirred the jeans occasionaly to make sure all parts were being bleached equally. I used Petal Pink from Rit which you can find at Michaels, Walmart, & many other stores in the laundry aisle. So there you have it! Candy Dot T-Shirt | CraftyChica.com | Official site of award-winnning artist and novelist, Kathy Cano-Murillo. Have you ever heard of Beads in a Bottle? It’s a type of 3D paint from Tulip that is like one step beyond traditional puffy paint. Beads in a Bottle dries to a hard finish and with a rounded top. The “beads” look so shiny and juicy!

It reminds me of little candy dots – or Dippin’ Dots. Maybe I’ve just been playing too much Candy Crush. Anyway, I recently picked up a boyfriend tee for Maya and before I presented it to her, I covered the entire front with different colors of Beads in a Bottle! Pre-wash your shirt and insert wax paper inside so the paint won’t seep through. I used two packages to get this look!

Here is Miss Maya already wearing it! Domestic Bliss Squared: my new extender slip, plus a tutorial! This dress is the one that made me realize I needed to sew myself an extender slip! You might remember this post in which I talked about wanting this exact dress? Well, I got it! I bought this dress from Target this spring and I absolutely love it.

It's so versatile and cute and the colors make it easy to wear with just about anything. My problem is...it's kind of short! See what I mean? So I decided that I needed an extender slip! 1. 2. I cut straight across at the 16 inch mark: 3. That's it, you're done! I am so excited, I've already tried it on under several dresses that before the slip were only appropriate with leggings. This is my beloved Target dress, now made totally church appropriate with my new extender slip underneath! This grey and purple floral dress was cute, but like the Target dress, a little too short. This green vintage '90's dress was so short that I originally wasn't going to post the 'before' pic at all.

~Jessica. DIY ombre jeans (or jeggings) Spring and summer are a great time to wear white jeans. They flatter very few people's bodies, are impossible to keep clean, and often become semi-transparent in the sunlight. In real life, I'd never wear white jeans. When my sister gave me these unworn (she didn't like them for above reasons) uniqlo jeggings, I really wanted to keep them so some changes had to be made.

By dip dying the top part of white jeans, you can avoid visible underwear, grass stains, and a color that makes your hips and butt look bigger - at least a little. You will need: Jeans or jeggings in a white or a light color (uniqlo jeggings, cotton poly blend) Jaquard iDye suited to the pants you are dying (I used the original iDye + iDye poly because these pants are a blend) Water and any additives listed in the instructions on your dye. Optional: A hotplate, it is always safer to use chemical dyes outside of your kitchen to reduce the chance of contamination. While the pants are soaking, open your dyes.

DIY. I have been asked by a few people if I could try and create a no sew skirt out of a T-shirt. I finally ended up with this design last week. Several designs came out of this one thought. I can not wait to show you the other creations that I came up with. But first let me show you this one. Tutorial Things you need. Shirt* This is an XL men's Large t-shirtTapeScissors Tape across the shirt leaving about 2 inches of the sleeve. Cut across the taped line *The tape just keeps your line straighter. Cut the sleeves where the seam is, straight back to the arm seam, do this on both sides, you want to have two ties on each side. * You can reinforce the seams with a little fabric glue or you can hand stitch them. Fold you skirt in half. When you open your skirt back up you should have 10 slits Now you are going to weave the one tie through the first slit.

Weave the tie on each side though all 5 slits. Tie them to fit your size, which is the very best part, this skirt is completely adjustable. Back Lots of <3. Bleach-Dipped Aztec Jeans. I admit I've been obsessing with aztec-inspired prints lately. The unexpected shapes and lines - it's just so attractive these days, don't you think? I have also been obsessing with those bleach dipped shorts with aztec print drawn over them - but I don't think I could rock them. I dunno. Maybe someday. But then I saw some cute pants inspired by those somewhere (I can't really find it anymore) and I was like, hey, I could try and make that - so here we are.

Bleach Permanent marker Dip part (READ: a few inches) of your pants into watered down bleach and leave it there for a few hours. Once dry, start drawing on your pattern. After you finish one leg, line it up with the other leg and start copying the pattern - but don't forget to mirror it! And that's it! I love how it turned out.
