Yesterday I told you a little bit about our Christmas party that we had over the weekend. This year we decided to have a hot chocolate themed party. For our party we sent out these invites in the mail a few weeks ahead of time so our friends could be sure to mark the date on their calendars. Jake and I purchased some plain white mugs from Home Goods for really cheap (just over one dollar per mug) and decorated each one differently with a Pebeo Porcelain Pen. We stocked the hot chocolate bar with candy canes, marshmallows, chocolate filled wafers, and vanilla syrup. I've decided I really like throwing parties. So, this is a set of cards I designed for PaperCraft Inspirations. There are ten altogether, and they're all free to download via this post on the PI blog. If you look closely, you'll see that each of the cards is just a little bit unfinished - not due in any way to my incompetence, but so you can lark about and add your own decorative details. It's kind of like buying mince pies from Marks and Spencer, then taking them out of the box and shaking on your own icing sugar so everyone thinks they're homemade. Rather than icing sugar (sticky), you'll probably want to embellish the cards with things like ribbon, buttons, sequins, stitching and stickers.

Here are a few things we did with them: We hid a sweet under one of the cones, swapped them around a bit & challenged the kids to guess which one’s got it (like the classic magic cups).
