Women At Work In The 1940′s. Before the WWII few women followed careers. Most jobs for women were ‘traditional’ roles such as nursing, secretarial or caring jobs.

Only when millions of men joined the armed forces, women took on an active role in World War II and took on many paid jobs that previously had been held by men – such as bank teller, shoe salesperson or aircraft mechanic. Woman started working in factories – this was called the “Rosie the Riveter” phenomenon. As a way to lure young women into the factories, advertisers showed women workers as glamorous and even fashionable.

They mentioned that women did not care much about their appearance while at work, but that they were still feminine underneath the dirt. Some Really Weird History Photos | Hossit - Galleries, Funny Pictures, People Pictures. Back into the history, people were little bit weird. They are taking pictures funny dressed, with some really strange people, and I wanna say thanks to all people who saved these pictures, and allow us to see them today.

I think that most of people will agree with me about these pictures, and for those who are not agree with me, take a look, and be a judge. So, take a look, and enjoy. Back to the future – Recréer aujourd’hui ses photos d’enfances. Back to the future – Recréer aujourd’hui ses photos d’enfances “Back to the future” est un projet de la photographe Irina Werning, qui a réussi a recréer avec beaucoup de précision des photos d’enfances et à les comparer aux originales, en retrouvant les modèles, les lieux, les objets et même la couleur et le grain de la photo.

Un très bon regard sur le passé ! Then and Now. “Back to the Future” is an interesting photographic series by Irina Werning. Notes from the artist (from Werning’s website): I love old photos. I admit being a nosey photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today… A few months ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future. Photos © Irina Werning Link via One Cool Thing a Day. BACK TO THE FUTURE : Irina Werning - Photographer. I love old photos.
