Robert Calvert’s efforts were a little more artistically substantial: he was an established poet and playwright who featured at intervals during the 1970s as the band’s lyricist and singer. Ghosts of the Dakota building. Today, the Dakota building in New York City is famous for being the last home where John Lennon lived and for being the site of his horrible murder, but this building has a long and detailed history of paranormal activity.
Even Lennon himself, who was open to the paranormal, witnessed a UFO from the window of his apartment and also encountered the apparition of a woman walking down the long halls of the building, who he named the Crying Lady Ghost. They initially sublet the apartment #72 from actor Robert Ryan and then eventually purchased it sometime after his death in 1973. Here they are standing in front of their apartment on November 21, 1980 a few weeks before he was murdered. John & Yoko lived on the 7th floor facing West 72nd Street and Central Park West. Their bedroom window overlooked Central Park. John & Yoko also owned four additional apartments in the building including the next door apartment #71. Six months after John was murdered outside of the apartment building, Yoko Ono released her solo album “Season of Glass”.
