Berry Pinshow and Dr. Scott Turner of SUNY-Syracuse) seek a post-doc interested in how burrowing animals interact with their subterranean environment and how gas exchange takes place between the burrow environment and the atmosphere. Although, at present, we are studying intensively the burrows of Sundevall’s jird, semifossorial desert rodent, and the jirds themselves, we are expanding the study to learn about gas exchange in burrows with single entrances.
