Home | The Pritzker Architecture Prize. Biennale. Praemium Imperiale. Mies van der Rohe Awards. In this way, the Award draws attention to the major contribution by European professionals to the development of new ideas and technologies. At the same time, it offers both individuals and public institutions an opportunity to reach a clearer understanding of the cultural role of architecture in the construction of our cities. Furthermore, the Award sets out to foster architecture in two significant ways: by stimulating greater circulation of professional architects throughout the entire European Union in response to transnational commissions and by supporting young architects as they set off on their careers. Candidates for the Award are put forward by a broad group of independent experts from all over Europe, as well as from the architects' associations that form part of the European Council of Architects and other European national architects' associations.
The Award consists of a cash prize of 60,000€ and a sculpture evoking Mies van der Rohe's German Pavilion. BAL Bienal de Arquitectura Latinoamericana. BAL Bienal de Arquitectura Latinoamericana La BAL Bienal de Arquitectura Latinoamericana es un evento de carácter bienal que pretende ser un cauce para presentar en España los ejemplos más recientes y destacados del ejercicio profesional de arquitectos jóvenes al otro lado del océano, generando un foro en el que se estrechen lazos, se acorten distancias y establezca un firme y sólido contrapunto al universo anglosajón. Esta iniciativa se puso en marcha en 2009, repitiéndose en 2011 y preparándose para su tercera edición en la primavera de 2013. La BAL se desarrolla combinando eventos de carácter diverso, que se desarrollan en la Ciudad de Pamplona y en la Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Navarra. Las conferencias muestran el trabajo de jóvenes equipos de arquitectos latinoamericanos seleccionados que muestran su obra, y que se desarrollan en la Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Navarra durante las mañanas.
