When I’m looking at excellent websites for design inspiration , one of my favorite aspects of design to notice is the navigation menu. While I enjoy seeing excellent designs of all types ( minimal to artistic to colorful to dark ) and various aspects of the site (including headers and footers ), a well-designed and well-executed navigation menu can have more impact on my appreciation of a site than any other single piece of the design. In this post I’d like to take a look at more than 50 stellar examples of navigation menus that positively impact the design of a website. http://vandelaydesign.com/blog/galleries/inspirationalnavigation-menus/

24 Beautiful and Creative Website Headers

http://www.toxel.com/design/2008/11/26/24-beautiful-and-creative-website-headers/ Some awesome sites there, love them all. But I do feel 80% of them are all over crowded with items in the header, its drawing your attention away from what s important, the content.
One of my favourite ‘styles’ in web design is one that takes inspiration from traditional media such as paper and cardboard. Using scans and images of paper provides an informal, cut-and-paste collage feeling to the design giving the site more of a personal and hand-crafted image – quite opposite to the clean and shiny trend of other web design styles. Here are 25 good examples of this super cool paper based effect put into practice.

40 most beautiful and inspirational website designs of 2008

2008 has brought some big changes in the design trends . One of the major ones was the end of the so called “ glossy revolution “, the wrongful design interpretation of the web 2.0 current. You know what I am talking about : the glossy, vivid and colorful logos and website designs, the major usage of reflections and two tone colors. This style is used less and less, and some new design trends are starting to emerge (the vintage style seems to be catching on).

2008 Design Trends

About a year ago, I compiled a huge list of artistic sites . It seems like the trend has carried on in 2008 and is growing stronger (thank God the glossy style is gone). So what's hot now? Pencil sketches, handwritten notes, card stocks, watercolor effects, collage art, script fonts, grungy and splatter ink backgrounds (glossy gradients are not "in" this year). Another trend to be on the lookout for are the vintage and retro styles which I've posted earlier this year.
