O Fazer o Mapa de Uma Coleção. Um fator muito importante no planejamento de coleções é a organização. Depois de uma exaustiva pesquisa para definir o tema e o conceito da coleção temos tantas informações, que podem até fazer com que nos percamos na hora de estruturar a coleção. Para evitar isso é importante fazer o que chamamos de mapa da coleção, uma série de tabelas onde estruturamos tudo para facilitar o trabalho.

No exemplo abaixo temos uma coleção cinco famílias contendo quatro looks cada. Após definir a estrutura da coleção é interessante fazer um cronograma estimando o tempo necessário para a realização de cada atividade. Doris Treptow em seu livro Inventando Moda sugere dividir a coleção em três categorias de peças para compor o mix de moda: Básicos, Fashion e Vanguarda. É preciso definir que proporção cada uma dessas categorias irá ter dentro da coleção e isso irá depender principalmente do público-alvo ao qual essa coleção será direcionada.
