Créé en 2009 par Gervanne et Matthias Leridon en réponse aux Objectifs du Millénaire pour le Développement (OMD) définis par les Nations-Unies, le fonds de dotation African Artists for Development (AAD) est une organisation d'intérêt général qui soutient des projets de développement communautaires associés à des créations d’artistes africains contemporains.
Par cet engagement, African Artists for Development lie intrinsèquement art contemporain et initiative de développement local, en ne promouvant pas l’un et l’autre mais l’un dans l’autre. African Artists’ Foundation (AAF) is pleased to announce its first Art Salon of 2014, entitled We Are Love, featuring recent work by nine Nigerian artists who explore the concept of love through varied artistic practices, including painting, photography, collage, and mixed media.
With a specific focus on strengthening opportunities for young collectors, this event will include a presentation by Cecelia Stucker, director of C.C. Curating and Collections, who will provide advice on collecting contemporary art through her experience curating exhibitions internationally and offering collection management services.
