The Future Of Innovation And Consumer Electronics

http://ogilvynotes.com/49790/456852/sxsw-2012/the-future-of-innovation-and-consumer-electronics#.T4ccQ8MNP3g.twitter Meet chef, author & television personality Anthony Bourdain and the crew behind the award-winning series Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, who help Tony oversee the show’s social media presence. Tony and his trusted sidekicks will discuss how he utilizes social media —Twitter, Facebook, blogs, et al. — to directly communicate his unique and unfiltered P.O.V. to fans of the show, and to the world at large. We’ll also look at how social media and the digital audience is changing the overall game for TV, and how it directly impacts both the show and how Tony converses with his audience. From ‘LiveTwatting’ wrap parties on the road (read: shots of toilets abroad) to propagating food porn online to live-streaming a pub crawl — all is fair game as we present an unprecedented & uncensored behind-the-scenes access to No Reservations.
← Back to all practice articles Yesterday, Facebook announced updates to Pages at their first ever Facebook Marketers Conference in New York City. The big story, as expected, was the roll out of Timeline for brands. And the corresponding big headline, as expected, was, “Brands are multimedia storytellers!” But, there’s much more to it. https://social.ogilvy.com/facebooktimeline/

Tech PR Nibbles * » Blog Archive » The Contribution of Neuroscience to the Art of Storytelling: 5 Lessons to Become Better Communicators

Yesterday I had the opportunity to speak at the BLUE Mind Summit at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. It was the first conference in history to bring together leaders in neuroscience and ocean exploration. It was an incredible experience and you can read more here on this initial blog post by Wired’s Sheril Kirshenbaum. So what the heck was I doing there, you might ask. Fair question. Inspired by our Global CEO, Chris Graves, at Ogilvy PR, we have been following closely how certain advances in neuroscience are translating into the discipline of public relations and communications. http://www.techprnibbles.com/2011/06/the-contribution-of-neuroscience-to-the-art-of-storytelling-5-lessons-to-become-better-communicators/
http://www.amiando.com/ogilvy.html Join Ogilvy to discuss the latest thinking around customer engagement through Social Experience Design(SXD). Ogilvy’s thinking is evolving to include a new way to perceive and utilize social media in which brands can effectively and emotionally engage audiences across all digital touch points. In addition to Ogilvy Leadership, representatives from industry leading organizations will discuss their views on the effects of the decentralization of the singular brand presence, how social media has affected customer contact channels and CRM initiatives and how marketers can best align with user needs and behaviors across the expanding digital space (smart tv, mobile phones, gaming consoles, tablets, smart appliances).

Consider the famous exchange from Pulp Fiction in which Jules and Vincent debate the rationality of abstaining from pork. Jules just doesn’t dig on swine, that’s all, because they’re basically dirty, like dogs. VINCENT: Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal?

Technology Practice

http://ogilvypr.com/en/practices/technology Feeds Print Technology marketers and public relations professionals have been and continue to find themselves in a new age of public relations. The technology market has always been a creature of rapid change, but now the media and influencer environment surrounding that market finds itself mirroring that same rate of change and evolution. As traditional technology media migrates online, tech pages in major business media outlets are shrinking and new influencers are being recognized in bloggers and podcasters.

Tech innovation and enthusiasm is clearly alive and well in our nation’s capital. Last Thursday, I attended the Digital Capital Week 2011 Core Conference, an all day affair at the Artisphere , where entrepreneurs, creatives, developers, marketers and communicators from around the world came together to network and share information. One of the highlights for me was the Disruptive Entrepreneurs panel, where Ruha Devanesan introduced us to PeaceTones , a nonprofit that s upports talented, unknown artists from developing countries build their careers while giving back to their communities.

David Ogilvy Quotes

Advertising is a business of words, but advertising agencies are infested with men and women who cannot write. They cannot write advertisements, and they cannot write plans. They are helpless as deaf mutes on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera. Can advertising foist an inferior product on the consumer?
