Data Mining: Using Predictive Analysis and Social Network Analysis | New Tech Post

These tools are tend to be used by large organizations such as supermarket chains and telecoms operators. They are expensive in terms of software and hardware and expensive in terms of the people who need to operate these systems. Eric explains further, “For instance, a large supermarket has many thousands of customers and many thousands of products to sell. http://newtechpost.com/2011/02/09/data-mining-using-predictive-analysis-and-social-network-analysis
Web analytics tools are abundant, but in order to use such tools effectively, you need to decide what information you need and how to interpret it correctly. After that you then need to make the necessary changes to your web site in order to attract more visitors and improve your search engine rankings. What information do I need? This is a question that you should try answering before deciding on which web analytics tool to choose – going for the most advanced and most expensive one is not always the best choice. If you primarily source of traffic are the search engines, you will most certainly need information that tells you: If you decide to run PPC campaigns, then you would need entirely different information, which will help you analyze the success of your campaigns, tune up your ads, and ultimately achieve better return on your investment. http://www.testking.com/techking/tips/interpreting-web-analytics-for-beginners/

Law of mass action - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_mass_action In Chemistry, the law of mass action is a mathematical model that explains and predicts behaviors of solutions in dynamic equilibrium . It can be described with two aspects: 1) the equilibrium aspect, concerning the composition of a reaction mixture at equilibrium and 2) the kinetic aspect concerning the rate equations for elementary reactions . Both aspects stem from the research by Guldberg and Waage (1864–1879) in which equilibrium constants were derived by using kinetic data and the rate equation which they had proposed. Guldberg and Waage also recognized that chemical equilibrium is a dynamic process in which rates of reaction for the forward and backward reactions must be equal. Taken as a statement about kinetics, the law states that the rate of an elementary reaction (a reaction that proceeds through only one transition state, that is one mechanistic step) is proportional to the product of the concentrations of the participating molecules.
