I found the guards as intriguing to observe as the pieces they watch over. http://www.beatpie.com/2013/04/guardians-of-museums.html

Crinoline Flowers - Sophia Banks Art Photography

http://www.darylbanks.com/crinoline-flowers/ Crinoline Flowers This series was made as a visual representation of my feelings about being transgender and repressed. These photos were taken years before I had the courage to come out as trans. The series took off at one point and were published in quite a few international magazines. People started asking what the photos were about and I made up some silly story about being inspired by spring flowers and a walk in the park. I was not ready at that point in my life to tell anyone, let alone a large audience that I was a transgender.

Symmetrical Portraits : Julian Wolkenstein

There is a myth, some say a science, suggesting people who have more symmetrical faces are considered more “ attractive “. If you are made symmetrical, do you consider yourself more beautiful, less so, or is it just weird? Or is it you at all? Do you have a best side? What is to be said of left and right brain dominance? This is a series of photographic portraits completed in 2010.
From its completion in 1931 until construction of the World Trade Center’s North Tower in 1972, the Empire State Building stood as the tallest building in the world. As of 2012, it is the 15th tallest skyscraper in the world and the fourth tallest free standing structure in the Americas. At 102 floors and a roof height of 1,250 feet (381 meters), the Empire State Building was constructed in a mind-blowing 410 days. It was finished three months early and drastically under budget due to reduced building costs during the Depression [ Source ].

What does spilled paprika powder and planet Mars have in common? To a New Jersey-based artist Matthew Albanese, the visually similar color and texture of the two lead to creating a meticulous diorama of Mars, and then photographing it in a way that you wouldn’t think it’s fake. Eventually this revelation resulted in the “Strange World” series, where the artist uses various condiments to make incredible miniature landscapes that look like photos. Matthew’s work starts by walking down the isles of the supermarkets, looking for material that he could possibly make use of. One diorama takes around a month to create, and Matthew needs around 500 shots of each of them before he’s pleased with the result. http://www.demilked.com/strange-worlds-landscapes-matthew-albanese/

Before and After
