The project took place in 2008 and comprised a workshop followed by an exhibition in Syria. Another exhibition and workshop are being planned to take place in Egypt.

During the workshop, the participating artists worked together - out of their regular environment - and were mutually affected by the different artistic styles and cultural backgrounds. They also visited different studios of Syrian artists: Sculptor/ Mostafa Aly, Visual Artist/ Ghassan Naa'na, Visual Artist/ Edward Shahda and Sculptor/ Ghazi Ghana. The workshop took place at “All Art Now” studio in Old Damascus.

My first step was not to start designing on the Mac, but to conceptualise my thoughts with pen and paper. Check out these stunning jellyfish images that show them in different types of colours and shapes.

I can remember seeing some lit-up in ultra-violet once, and have been interested in them every since. My favourite image shown here is Cosmic Jellyfish by Darvin Atkeson. He states: “This is one of many of the types of Jellyfish they have at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and one of my favorite ones. It was about the size of your hand and moved quite quickly.

It was in a cylinder aquarium which made photographing somewhat difficult. I had to keep the lens of the camera right up against the plexiglass and hope one would swim by far enough away to be in good focus. Fluorescent Water by Mark Mawson [8 Images] This stunning collection of photos showing fluorescent water is from a project named “Aqueous Fluoreau - Inspired by the vibrant colours that brighten up everyday life.” They are from London & Sydney based Mark Mawson, who spends his time between the two locations shooting for advertising agencies & magazines.

Marks work has been a feature in several galleries. His own personal photography is also in various private collections across the globe. The galleries include the Sophie Maree gallery, The Hague and Lux Archive in New York City. I think this set of images is just fantastic; I can only assume that he spent many hours dropping the multi-coloured fluorescent dyes into water and experimenting with lighting. Wow! This is simply amazing. I can’t put into words how good this video is! It’s surreal. It’s weird. It’s fun to watch and I reckon you’ve never seen anything like it before.

Created by Sebastian Cosor, this short animation was a rue joy to watch─take a look after the screenshots below… “I was walking along a path with two friends – the sun was setting – suddenly the sky turned blood red – I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence – there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city – my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety – and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature. . ” ► SEE ALSO: Entropic Images by Jim Kazanjian.
