The theme of the CAIS/ACSI 2012 conference relates to how information is searched, retrieved, used, made sense of, and understood in a local and global context. The cultural, political, sociological, technological, and historical contexts are central in understanding how people interact with information. The conference will provide information scientists and practitioners with a forum for the presentation and debate of innovative research on all aspects of the evolving field of information science.

Elkészült A Magyar Könyvtárosok Egyesületének története 1935-2009 című, a szervezet múltjához és jelenéhez, szakmai tekintélyéhez méltó, tudományos igényű összeállítás. Bényei Miklós átfogó tanulmánya tekinti át az egyesület egészének történetét, kiegészítve kronológiai táblázatokkal, adattárakkal (az egyesület kitüntetettjei, a mindenkori tisztségviselők névsora), saját kiadványok listájával, valamint az egyesületről megjelent közlemények válogatott bibliográfiájával. A szervezetek önálló bemutatkozásra kaptak alkalmat a kötetben, amelyet számos fénykép illusztrál. http://mke.info.hu/

Examine the use of romanized data in bibliographic and authority records. Explore the following issues (including costs and benefits): (1) Alternative models (Model A and Model B) for multiscript records are specified in the MARC 21 formats. The continuing use of 880 fields (that is, Model A records) has been questioned, but some libraries may need to continue to use Model A records.
