August 27, 2012 Las Vegas, Nevada In an emergency meeting held tonight via teleconference, the Executive Board of the Clark County Republican Party, the largest county Republican Party in Nevada (and one of the largest county parties in the United States), voted to formally and urgently call upon the delegates to the 2012 Republican National Convention to reject certain new rules that have been proposed by the convention's Committee on Rules and Order of Business. The new proposals, crafted by lobbyist and political consultant Benjamin Ginsberg (and approved by the Rules Committee on a narrow margin), would empower the Republican National Committee to change the party rules in-between national conventions, thereby destroying the system of checks and balances imperative to preventing tyrannical control of our party. Ron Paul supporters are not Republicans and they should not attend the GOP convention. This is proven in reading the comments they leave to any article that veers from their narrow ideology tract. This is not about making them mad.
This is about policy, and only policy. Paul supporters complain that a few bad apples discredit the entire movement and this may be true. They are not always wrong about this, but one charge against them that they freely admit to is disloyalty. Before passing this censure, the NRP E-Board did not contact the Delegation Chairman to find out "his side" of the story. In fact, they did not even officially notify him that the censure was passed.
It is only common decency that a person be allowed to answer accusations leveled against them before judgement is passed.
