A couple weeks ago I finally got around to making this beaded bar necklace that I had bought supplies for last June (!) On my road trip to Nova Scotia. I just love the simplicity of bar necklaces. Easiest necklace ever. Here’s another DIY that’s been loitering my end for a while, never quite having time to edit it and write it all up for you.
It really is the easiest necklace to make and will add a pop of colour to any outfit. I think the most fun part is picking out the coloured threads you want but then a colour geek would say that. I recently spent 20 minutes agonising over which coloured crayons I wanted to combine to make wax candles. It was laughable, take it from me.
You’ll need… To make… Heat up your glue gun. And now all that’s left to do is try on your new jewellery piece. The Lovely Drawer. Now I know I often say how quick my DIY tutorials are and that’s not a lie but this one really is the quickest of the bunch.
I honestly made this in 5 minutes…it’s not just phrased like that because it sounds catchy! I’m always on the lookout for new necklaces but particularly those that are simple and go with every outfit I could dream up. Versatility is the name of the game for me and this little number is certainly that. DIY Chevron + Chain Necklace - The Stripe.
Summer isn’t complete without a bright, punchy necklace.
I’ve been inspired by all of the bright necklaces in stores this summer (this and this being at the top of my wish list,) and wanted to make something that I can wear while I’m at home all week on the Cape (or all summer long, for that matter.) Preppy, fun and bright… what could be better? I also made a red, white, and blue version to wear on the fourth, so be sure to scroll all the way down to see how that one turned out. DIY: Venessa Arizaga inspired Tiered Chain Collar - The Stripe. This project was inspired by a necklace I saw by Venessa Arizaga.
(She’s been a huge source of inspiration lately… her stuff is just so good!) It’s such an easy piece to wear… I really love how it looks with a great graphic tee (as pictured above) but it will dress up just as nicely. Materials: About 7-8 feet of curb chain // Three colors of embroidery floss // Pliers // Two large crimp cord ends // Two jump rings // Large Lobster Clasp // Needle (not pictured) // Sharp Scissors Add a clasp to the other side, and you are done! Designer DIY: Neon Tassle Necklace with Holst & Lee - The Stripe. Today marks part deux in my DIY series with Holst & Lee.
I could not be more excited to share this tassel necklace project with you! There are a bunch of steps, but I swear… it’s pretty simple. When I arrived at the Holst & Lee Studio, Natalie had already made the necklace. I didn’t realize it was going to be our DIY – it looked so elaborate and complicated! (Truth be told, I wanted to buy it). P.S. DIY Gallery - The Stripe. DIY Braided Cuff. The weather is getting warmer and the sleeves are getting shorter.
Exposed wrists are in desperate need of jewelry – some new, some old and some handmade. This season, I’m all about making these braided brass cuffs, inspired by Aurélie Bidermann’s Copacabana bracelet. The most complicated step to this tutorial is drilling holes through the cuff but if you’ve got a steady hand and a tiny drill bit, you’ll be churning these out before you know it.
You’ll need:1/2″ blank brass cuff6 skeins of embroidery thread1 skein of metallic gold embroidery threadan embroidery needlea rotary drilla drill bit Take 6 skeins of embroidery floss, 2 of each shade of a color to create an ombré effect. The next step involves drilling a series of small holes along the edge of the brass cuff. Remove the tape. Once you’ve reached the end, back stick the gold thread and tie it into a knot. Trim both ends. DIY Gold bracelet. A very simple idea to make a pretty bracelet with braiding different chains.
Una idea muy simple para hacer una pulsera bonita trenzado diferentes cadenitas. Cut three same length pieces and attach them with the clasp on one side. Cortar tres piezas del mismo largo y amarar las con el cierre en un lado . Pass the small chain in the big chain link.Pasar la canedita entre la mallas de la grande. To finish attach the small chain end with wire around the chain link. Para terminar amaran el extremo de la cadanida con un alambre. Et voila,
