The Lady and The Reaper

An old lady is nearing the end of her days and she longs to be with the husband she has lost. So, when death pays her a visit on night in the form of a rather comical Grim Reaper then she touches his extended hand without fear. Only, she has not considered that a meddlling doctor on our side of the great divide will decide that she must be resuscitated . So ensues a terrific fight between the Reaper and the doctor, who fight fiercely over the mortal coil of the ancient dame. The Reaper eventually gives up, but the old lady has different ideas altogether. She is not going to let death give up that easily, No Sir-ee Bob!
It isn’t often that an animation leaves me dumbstruck, but this one did the trick. Descendants is an extraordinary 14 minute animated short about the wish of attaining the unattainable and that out of every great evil some great good must come. The protagonists are a pair of flowers (the older more experienced voiced by Whoopi Goldberg in full form and the younger by Christy Scott Cashman ). They grow on the edge of a clearing next to one another. http://www.kuriositas.com/2010/07/descendents-stunning-animated-short.html

Descendents - Stunning Animated Short Starring Whoopi Goldberg - StumbleUpon

http://www.kuriositas.com/2011/05/why-panda-is-black-and-white.html This is a superbly created piece of animation which captures the imagination. The world is monochrome until an invisible hand starts to color it in. Unfortunately, one animal is asleep and misses the chance to be painted... Surprisingly, this is in fact an advert for French kid’s channel TiJi. While we normally wouldn’t embed adverts like this in to Kuriositas, our French readers are such a small minority that this could not be mistaken for a plug for the channel, so we let it slip in.
