Kids Week: Frozen Pudding Pops!

Making home made popsicles totally makes me feel like a child again. I realize that if your kids are like mine and eat 27 popsicles a day that the most economical thing to do is head to Costco and buy a box of otter pops, but take a break every once and a while and have some fun creating your own flavor combos in homemade popsicles. There’s something magical about it! Kids love helping out and these recipes are so quick and easy that you won’t mind extra “helpers.”

You can pick up all kinds of shapes and sizes of molds just about anywhere these days. I started thinking about pudding pops about a month ago and I couldn’t stop dreaming about different flavor combos that sounded good. Are you ready for this?? Mint-Chocolate Cookie Pudding Pops 1 small box instant chocolate pudding 1 3/4 C half and half 10 Oreo cookies, crushed (about 1 heaping cup) 1/4 t peppermint extract These might be my 2nd favorite!

Crafty Friday. This craft project was inspired by something almost identical I saw in a fancy shop here in NYC. It cost almost $500, and I thought to myself, "hey, I can make that". And so I did! Faux Terrarium

It is so interesting to have only one room to really decorate. It makes me care that much more about the decor in that one room. I no longer live in the woods and I wanted to have a reminder of my five years living in the Sequoia National Forrest. I made a little non-living terrarium and it brings just enough of the woods into my decor. I took lichen that I collected from my old home and mixed it with pinecones inside a beautiful garden box I found at Home Goods. It was so simple and I don’t have to water this terrarium to keep it alive, which is a plus for me. Here is a look at one wall of my room. I am still getting used to photography in my new house.
