Double Exposure Style in Photoshop. We've featured quite a few posts and images with the effect most call double exposure. This technique consists of 2 images superimposed. There are some really nice examples with very intricate overlaying, usually with faces of people mixed with photos of nature. I've been thinking about giving it a whirl in Photoshop for a long time and I've finally gotten around to it. So in this tutorial/case study I will show you how to create this double exposure effect using Photoshop and some stock photos.

The process is simple however it does take time to adjust the details. Step 1 Open Photoshop and start a new document. Step 2 Isolate the girl from the background using the select tool. Step 3 Now let's add the second image for the double exposure experiment. Step 4 Duplicate the photo of the branches to make them mor compact. Step 5 Now put both images together. Step 6 Mask the photo of the girl with the branches selection. Step 7 Step 8 Duplicate all layers and merge them into one. Conclusion Applications. A multiple exposure is where you take two images on top of one another. This used to be achieved in the days of film, where you would take one picture and then instead of advancing the film strip to the next frame to take the next picture, you would simply leave the film in the same place and take another picture right on top of it. Taking or editing the shots in Black-and-White usually produces the best results because you don't have to worry about color theory or anything like that - black and white just works. Here are the steps to take high-key double exposures just like the one above. You can skip steps 3-6 if you are taking regular, non-high-key double exposures: Turn on the Multiple Exposure feature on your camera. If you want to use previously taken shots, or don't have a multiple exposure feature on your camera, you can do this in Adobe Photoshop (The image above was done in PS).

Canon T3i Multiple Exposures. Basic Studio Lighting Setups One of the hardest things to get right in a photograph is the lighting. Too much light, too little light, or a combination of the two can ruin an otherwise perfect photo. But, luckily this problem can be solved if you understand the types of lighting, how they affect your camera and what you can [...] Understanding the “Image Stabilizer” Function of a DSLR One thing that is now often found on new generation digital cameras is the “Image Stabilizer.” Panasonic names this feature with the term “Mega OIS,” Canon with the term “Image Stabilizer/IS,” Pentax with “Anti Shake/AS,” Nikon with “Vibration Reduction/VR,” and Sony with “Super Steady Shot.” Other brands such as Olympus, Kodak, and Fuji soon follow [...] SD Card Capacity for DSLR SIRI Technology in the Canon EOS 5D Mark II? Recently, rumors has circulated about a Swedish hacked name Bjorn Mabro who’s successfully embedded Apple’s Siri application into his Canon 5D Mark II.

SD Card Speed Guide. Difference between Speed Class, UHS Speed Class, and Speed Ratings (performance) for SD/SDHC/SDXC cards. Difference between Speed Class, UHS Speed Class, and Speed Ratings (performance) for SD/SDHC/SDXC cards What is the difference between Speed Class and Speed Ratings for SDTM/SDHCTM cards? The speed rating measures maximum transfer speed for reading and writing images to and from a memory card, expressed as megabytes per second. However, video doesn't need as big a data pipe because the video format is a smaller "fixed stream" that uses only a portion of the data pipe. Unlike card write speeds that measure maximum performance, class ratings measure the minimum sustained speed required for recording an even rate of video onto the card.

What does this difference mean for me? Still digital images shot on high-megapixel cameras should utilize fast data throughput (a large data pipe), higher speed cards for improved performance. Speed Class is a minimum speed based on a worst case scenario test. The current SDHC specification defines Class 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 as follows: SD Speed Class. SD memory card manufacturers use different types of flash memory to create an SD memory card, so actual transfer speed can vary. Varying speeds make it difficult to determine which card will provide reliable recording of streaming content. Recording video require a constant minimum write speed to ensure a smooth playback.

The SD Association defines Speed Class standards indicated by speed symbols to help consumers decide what card will provide the required minimum performance for reliability. There are two kinds of speed indications regarding SD bus generation: Speed Class and UHS Speed Class* symbols indicate minimum writing performance to ensure smooth writing of streaming content such as video shooting. Speed Class designates minimum writing performance to record video. UHS Speed Class is designed for UHS** devices only and designates minimum writing performance to record video on UHS products.
