California's law allows court-ordered treatment in the community, often called “assisted outpatient treatment” or “outpatient commitment,” but only in counties that have passed a resolution to implement Laura's Law.

HepC is more wide spread. Details Category: HCV Epidemiology & Mortality Published on Friday, 23 September 2011 00:00 Written by Liz Highleyman HCV © Russell Kightley The number of people living with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in the U.S. is probably greater than the usual estimate due to undercounting of high-risk populations in household surveys, including prisoners, homeless people, and injection drug users, researchers reported in the September 2011 issue of Liver International. According to the most widely used estimate, about 4 million people, or 1.6% of the U.S. population, have hepatitis C. This estimate is based on data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), which periodically collects information about health and well-being from a sample of more than 15,000 people living in American households.

Results Studies of prisoners found HCV prevalence rates ranging from 23.1% to 41.2%. Reference E Chak, AH Talal, KE Sherman, et al. MedWatch: The FDA Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program.

California Delta. More intresting. Blue Fairy Book. Mithraism and Early Christianity. Christianity grew out of a mixture of Persian Mithraism, Judaism and the works of individuals such as St. Paul who gave us written records of this synthesis. 1. Mithraism “Spirit of Spirit, if it be your will, give me over to immortal birth so that I maybe born again - and the sacredspirit may breathe in me.” Prayer to Mithras Celebrating the light and fire caused from striking of flints is an ancient tradition. Mithra is said to be forced out of a rock, wearing the Phyrygian cap holding a dagger and a torch of light. Mithraism was popular in the Roman Empire with many Emperors following, not just the populace. ”More important even than the Vedic and Zoroastrian influences, the Mithras cult had a strong impact on Christianity.

ZoroastrianismThe roots of Mithraism go back to Zoroastrianism, a Persian religion that became popular in Greece from 390BCE. Zarathustra, a Zoroastrian magi, had predicted a Messiah, and Jesus' birth was assumed by Paul to be his possible arrival. 2. “St. 3. 4. 5. Seder Masochism: Phase I by Nina Paley. Seder Masochism: an animated movie telling the story of Exodus, narrated by recordings of real Passover Seders. Its production would depend on an experiment conducted in its first phase: Can I record high quality audio of real Passover Seders? Can I find enough Seder participants willing to be part of the project?

Will the results be entertaining? Can I edit them to make a coherent, pointed and entertaining story? I'm guessing the answer is yes, but there's only way to find out! The Experiment: I purchase eight (8) good quality 24-bit/48kHz WAV-capable digital audio recorders and eight (8) good quality lavalier microphones. Then I attend as many Passover Seders as I can this Spring. Why: Getting useable, high quality audio recordings of conversations in natural settings is extremely difficult if not impossible, which is why most conversations are either recorded in a studio or simply pre-scripted and acted out in a controlled setting. The Dead Sea Scrolls Online. Henrietta Lacks’ ‘Immortal’ Cells. Keli Goff: Did the Media Stumble With Steve Jobs Coverage? Last week America lost a man who changed the world. Without him and his visionary leadership it's arguable that I, and millions of people just like me, (including many of you reading this) wouldn't be able to do our jobs as well as so many of the small things in life we now take for granted.

If you assume I'm referring to Steve Jobs, the Apple founder who passed away last week after a lengthy battle with cancer, you'd be wrong. I'm actually referring to Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth. If you just asked yourself, "Fred who? " you're not alone. Though he and Jobs passed away on the same day and both men are credited with spending much of their lives revolutionizing all of ours, you'd hardly know it by the glaring difference in the amount of media coverage each of their deaths received. Next to Rev. As a Mac loyalist (I own three of them along with two iPods), I can say Steve Jobs definitely made my life better. GEEKY.
